GENE SIMMONS AND PAUL STANLEY ARE “DEVASTATED” BY THE PASSING OF KISS BANDMATE ACE FREHLEY

Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley are heartbroken over the death of their former KISS bandmate Ace Frehley.

“We are devastated by the passing of Ace Frehley. He was an essential and irreplaceable rock soldier during some of the most formative foundational chapters of the band and its history,” they told Page Six in a statement Thursday.

“He is and will always be a part of KISS’ legacy,” they added, concluding that their thoughts are with Frehley’s estranged wife, Jeanette, his daughter, Monique, and “all those who loved him, including our fans around the world.”

Frehley, passed away today (October 16th) at the age of 74, after sustaining a fall, a couple of weeks ago. Additionally, TMZ, is reporting that Frehley had a brain bleed as a result of the fall. He was reportedly placed on life support, with the family, ultimately, deciding to turn off his ventilator.

Frehley, was expected to join his KISS bandmates, on December 7th, when the band was to receive The Kennedy Center Honor.

  1. I recently lost a very close and dear friend mark, he was an amazing friend , father to his kids ,husband to his beautiful wife a great man – and he died very unexpectedly it was shocking and i was devastated he is deeply missed by his family and countless people – so if Paul , Gene and Pete say they are devastated they are – life is so short none of us are promised tomorrow, RIP ACE

  2. Here is what bothers me the most. And I know life is not always fair. That Ace was not part of the reunion tour and did not get to cash in. I am sure the rest of the members are very sad over Ace passed but there is a lesson here about how the bands should treat each other. The greed factor I call it. Without Ace and that deep, rich sound he got out of that 1973 Gibson Les Paul. it sealed Kiss’s sound!!

  3. agree George – most bands are dysfunctional.
Only a few get it right.

While the $$ might have been good – Ace would be miserable back in the band
