This is a cover band of Foreigner. I see a lot of the same stupid articles lately on this site lately! There are more exciting things to post! Corusion of Comformity have a new double cd coming out! Pothead Eddie looks really stupid with these ongoing articles about Foreigner!
George,
Blame me, NOT Eddie. He had their PR company send me their press releases. It’s an easy fix, ignore the stories if they perturb you.
I feel a certain obligation, when the agencies send the information on to me, I apologize if you don’t understand.
I agree. Soooo many other bands, a lot that could use a headline, that could use this space.
Dana, It is not about being perturbed! It is is about having backbone or speaking up when something is not right or a little off! This is one of the biggest problems is to just ignore things so people get paid while fans get ripped off. When I hear Foreigners first four releases, I hear Lou Gramm giving way more than 100 percent! There would not be a Foreigner without Lou Gram!! I wonder what Lou Gram feels when other people are singing his genius life work? I saw fake Foreigner about eight years ago and it sounded like a recording to me! Mick Jones did come out for a few songs but looked like he was pretending to play his guitar! Go read what you posted in your article! I could never post this. I care more about music than trying to decieve people about fake Foreigner! Maybe you should of added that no original members remain. That would be respectful instead of telling me to just shut up in your own way. Or that I don’t understand.
I did not tell you to shut up at all, I think your opinion is completely valid, and I don’t necessarily disagree with it. I just did not want you to rag on Eddie about it, as I am the one whom he directed they be sent to, to be shared.
I am also uncertain if I can alter press releases, even if the information is correct without permission first. It becomes a case of ethics, and in more serious cases, could be libelous.
But of course, you are free to share your opinion, if feel this is disingenuous advertising.
George, Dana posts music news about various bands cuz she knows us posters all have different bands we enjoy. I understand being upset about Foreigner being a cover, or tribute, band…I am, too. I also get upset about bands like KI$$, Judas Priest, AC/DC, etc…that still carry the brand but have lost integral classic members. If you’re upset about it, I’d recommend you voice your complaints to the band or/and the music news Dana shares, don’t bitch about Dana posting music news about these bands.
And while you and me may be unhappy with these bands, there are posters on this site who are okay with it, and that is there prerogative to still enjoy these bands. And IMO, Dana should continue to post music news about these bands cuz there is an audience for it.
Mick Jones & Family…God bless them. Age has caught up with Mick. Can’t we just leave the songs and band lineup as we remember it? There are THOUSANDS of great, competent musicians and singers out there who can do “pretend” Foriegner, “pretend’ Journey, ” pretend “Jefferson Starship. We need a new, hungry band with killer songs like early Van Halen. Yet even then, who is gonna play and pay them?
