FANS ARE TRYING TO GUESS, WHICH BAND SHARON OSBOURNE UNINVITED, TO PERFORM AT THE OZZY OSBOURNE/BLACK SABBATH “BACK TO THE BEGINNING,” FAREWELL CONCERT

The New York Post’s Page Six reports:

After Sharon Osbourne revealed she had disinvited a band from Ozzy Osbourne’s Black Sabbath farewell concert, fans took to social media to speculate which one it was.

“My guess is Mötley Crüe,” wrote one user via Reddit.

“I’m thinking KISS. The most greedy band on the planet,” a second person claimed.

“I pondered on this as well, for there’s many bands that it could be. the first that struck me was Megadeth. due to the fact the other bands of the ‘Big 4’ were there and the band is doin up a new album,” a third fan hypothesized.

“I’m going to say Foo Fighters, Mötley Crüe or Limp Bizkit,” a fourth person commented.

The fans’ guesses came after Sharon, 72, told Billboard that she disinvited a group to the show last Saturday because they “wanted to make a profit.”

“It’s not the time to make a profit,” she added. “After the show, I’ll let everybody know who it was. I think people will be shocked.”

However, Sharon has yet to reveal the name of the band. Page Six reached out for comment.

Last weekend, Ozzy performed his final show with his Black Sabbath bandmates — Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi and Bill Ward — at the Villa Park Stadium in Birmingham, England, where the band was formed in the late ’60s.

The 10-hour show — which was hosted by “Aquaman” actor Jason Momoa — featured performances from Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Jack Black and more.

The rockstar, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2020, announced he was stepping away from touring in 2023 after he underwent an extensive spinal surgery the year prior.

At the time, Ozzy also shared that he only had “10 years left” to live after his back surgery left him “virtually crippled.”

  1. To all of those saying Megadeth, Kelly Osbourne dismissed that a few weeks ago on one of her platforms.

“No, Not him.” Is what I believe she put in regards to Dave Mustaine.

Some have suggested Iron Maiden, following the problems at Ozzfest 2005. Sharon herself cleared their name.

So, who is it? Well, until Mrs Osbourne reveals the answer all we can do is speculate. Who do I think it is? Well, firstly, from what I’ve heard from Sharon in interviews, it was the band’s manager who tried to get his clients a fee. That doesn’t mean that the band asked for it; the manager could have acted alone. So to attack the band in question maybe the wrong thing to do.

The fact that Sharon has also told us all that we would be shocked when we hear the name, makes me think it would be somebody who maybe has a good reputation. Motley Crue did come to my mind at first because Ozzy took them on tour in 1984/85, which lead to the infamous snorting of the ants story, and yet there was no appearance which I thought they would have done given their history (although they might be on tour for all I know and the schedules could have clashed).

I actually dismissed KISS straight away. Don’t ask me why, but I just don’t believe that it was them (unless Tom Morello made it clear when booking the bands that it had to be the original line-up, then there might have been a problem….) but I doubt it.

So, what is my guess? The one that keeps coming back to me is a band that’s first and second name starts with the sixth letter of the alphabet. But until Mrs Osbourne tells us….who knows? But remember, the argument was with the manager – not the band.

    1. Hello my, BB,

I initially thought it might have been Iron Maiden, but then. I immediately dismissed that guess. Due to all of the bad blood between the Osbournes, and Maiden/Bruce Dickinson, involving that whole Ozzfest fiasco. I venture to guess, that Maiden, wasn’t even invited to participate, in this event. Also, I never thought it was Mustaine/Megadeth.

Could it be Deep Purple? I literally, just pulled that guess out, from my behind, where it most likely belongs-LOL!

  2. Hi Dana

I don’t think it’s Deep Purple. Iron Maiden are also on tour at the moment. They were in the UK a couple of weeks ago and they played at the London Stadium (home of Steve Harris’ beloved West Ham United) and then I believe that they were going across into mainland Europe, so schedules probably wouldn’t have worked anyway. (Not that I’m a fan of Maiden – although their beer is good.)

I still feel that it’s the band who’s first and second name starts with the sixth letter of the alphabet…I’ll let everyone else work that out without saying it.

    1. Maybe, it is Foo Fighters?

I find Grohl, somewhat irritating, so no loss to me. He is like the Paris Hilton of rock, he will show up to an envelope opening.

In my humble opinion, the show was already well past it’s douchebag limit, anyway.
