SKID ROW CELEBRATE THE 35TH ANNIVERSARY OF THEIR DEBUT ALBUM WITH NEW “FACTS VIDEO”

Skid Row has released a new “facts video” for the band’s self-titled debut album to celebrate the LP’s 35th anniversary.

In a message accompanying the YouTube release of the video, Skid Row wrote “Happy 35th Birthday on Skid Row‘s debut album. Celebrate with this album facts video and let us know in the comments what you did or didn’t know before!”

For Skid Row‘s 30th anniversary in 2019, Rhino released a digital deluxe edition of the album that included the original album remastered for the first time, expanded with the bonus track Forever. The deluxe edition also featured a previously unreleased live performance from 1989, marking the first ever release of a full live show from the band. Skid Row: 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition is available on all digital download and streaming services.

Skid Row: 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition features a previously unreleased recording of the band’s April 28, 1989 performance at the Marquee club in California. The show includes powerful live versions of the classic hits from the album as well as fan-favorites such as Rattlesnake ShakePiece Of Me and Big Guns, as well as the set-closing cover of the KISS classic Cold Gin.

Skid Row was formed in 1986 in Toms River, New Jersey. Two years later, guitarists Dave “Snake” Sabo and Scotti Hill, bassist Rachel Bolan, drummer Rob Affuso and singer Sebastian Bach signed with Atlantic Records. To record their debut, the quintet traveled to Royal Recorders in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin to work with producer Michael Wagener (DokkenGreat WhiteWhite Lion).

Shortly after the album was released on January 24, 1989, Skid Row was certified platinum, and the band began touring the world, first with Bon Jovi on its “New Jersey Syndicate” tour, and later with Aerosmith during the band’s tour for the album Pump. The extensive touring, coupled with heavy rotation of Skid Row‘s music videos on MTV, helped fuel the debut album’s enormous popularity.

GUNS N’ ROSES KICKSTART 2024 WITH CINEMATIC A.I.-GENERATED ANIMATED MUSIC VIDEO FOR BRAND NEW SINGLE “THE GENERAL

Today (January 24th), Guns N’ Roses unveiled the music video for their brand-new single The General. The cinematic clip notably stands out as the band’s first-ever A.I.-powered music video.

The video for The General intercuts 20 live vignettes with an A.I.-animated psychedelic visual trip. Between the concert footage, it dives into the subconscious of a young boy who stares down the monsters of dark childhood memories, blurring worlds in the process. The result is unlike anything the band has done before and continues a longstanding historic tradition of bold visuals from Guns N’ Roses. To bring this vision to life, Guns N’ Roses collaborated with Dan Potter—Creative Director of London-based creative studio Creative Works. This was a collaboration between real designers and artificial designers, and the inspiration came from within the band.

Guns N’ Roses new single The General is out now via Geffen Records (here) and follows the release of their summer 2023 single, Perhaps (listen here). Guns N’ Roses initially debuted The General to a sold-out hometown audience during their two-night stand at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA. Since then, fans have anxiously awaited the official arrival of The General music video.

Last November, Guns N’ Roses concluded their blockbuster 2023 world tour, which sold 1.3 million tickets around the world. The tour marked the band’s largest run to date and consisted of acclaimed performances across European stadiums and arenas. The band’s legendary three-hour-plus shows encompassed sought-after fan favorites in addition to newly dusted-off gems from their back catalog, leaving ardent audiences in awe. Their run included headlining festivals including Glastonbury and London’s Hyde Park. The band’s North American leg included sold-out performances at historic venues such as the Hollywood Bowl and MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, as well as a co-headlining performance at Power Trip in Indio with AC/DC and Metallica.

SHARON OSBOURNE SAYS, OZZY PLANS TO PREFORM TWO MORE SHOWS, TO SAY “GOODBYE” TO THE FANS

Ozzy Osbourne only has a few more shows left in him, according to his wife, and manager, Sharon Osbourne.

The former The Talk co-host, 71, revealed Ozzy’s music plans in an interview with Rolling Stone UK during her Cut the Crap tour stop in London on Sunday.

“He won’t tour again, but we are planning on doing two more shows to say goodbye as he feels like, ‘I have never said goodbye to my fans and I want to say goodbye properly,’ ” she explained.

“We will do it in Aston Villa where Ozzy is from. His voice is still absolutely perfect,” she went on. “And all the time he has been off, he still does his singing lessons so his voice is perfect. And he can joke.”

“He has all these melodies in his head. Even if you don’t like his music, you can’t not like Ozzy, he just draws you in.”

Last year, the Black Sabbath frontman told the publication that he was “f – – king pissed off” that he “never got the chance to say goodbye or thank you” to his fans amid his multiple health woes.

“For whatever reason, that’s my goal to work to. To do those shows. If it’s at Ozzfest or somewhere, or even a f – – king gig at the Roundhouse. If I can’t continue doing shows on a regular basis, I just want to be well enough to do one show where I can say, ‘Hi guys, thanks so much for my life,’ ” he said for its December-January 2024 cover story.

He continued, “That’s what I’m working towards, and if I drop down dead at the end of it, I’ll die a happy man.”

ALICE COOPER-“BILLION DOLLAR BABIES ‘TRILLION DOLLAR’ DELUXE EDITION,” 3-LP AND 2-CD VERSIONS WITH REMASTERED SOUND, OUTTAKES, LIVE TRACKS, AND MORE ARRIVING MARCH 8TH

Hello Hooray, a new version of Billion Dollar Babies, is on the way as Alice Cooper’s delightfully subversive sixth album returns in all its snakeskin glory for an extended 50th-anniversary celebration. After hitting #1 on the album charts in America and the U.K. in 1973, the record remains a highwater mark for the original lineup, featuring hits like No More Mr. Nice Guy and Elected.

Billion Dollar Babies: Trillion Dollar Deluxe Edition will be available from Rhino on March 8th on 3-LP and 2-CD. Both feature a newly remastered version of the original album, along with bonus material, including studio outtakes, single mixes, and an electrifying 1973 concert recording. In the vinyl edition, the gatefold cover faithfully replicates the original’s textured snakeskin wallet design and comes complete with a $1 billion dollar bill tucked inside, pre-order is available here.

The single version of Elected from the upcoming set is available today digitally. Listen here.

An instant smash when it was released in March 1973, Billion Dollar Babies delivered a theatrical mix of hard rock and glam laced with macabre lyrics that explored wealth, decadence, and fame’s darker side. Newly remastered, the platinum-certified album sounds better than ever. The set also features outtakes (Coal Black Model T), single mixes (Mary Ann), and Slick Black Limousine, which originally came out on flexi-disc within an issue of the British rock paper New Musical Express.

The Trillion Dollar” Deluxe Edition also features a live show recorded in Texas in April of 1973, during the Billion Dollar Babies tour. The powerful performance includes live versions of many of the album’s tracks, highlights including Elected and Hello Hooray, along with several of the band’s earlier hits, including I’m Eighteen and School’s Out.

The LP and CD versions both come with an oral history of the album and the bonus tracks by the surviving band members – Alice Cooper, Dennis Dunaway, Michael Bruce, and Neal Smith – and Bob Ezrin, who produced the album. (Sadly, guitarist Glen Buxton died in 1997)

In the notes, Cooper recalls writing I Love The Dead and Sick Things. He says, “We were writing those songs looking at each other, and every time we’d write a line I’d say, ‘Oh, this is gonna kill them. Oh, they’re gonna hate us on this one.’ But at the same time, it was almost like an Edgar Allan Poe short story when you listen to I Love The Dead. I tried to write that the way Vincent Price would sing it.”

DAVID LEE ROTH SAYS HE THINKS SAMMY HAGAR WAS “SEX PROBED” BY AILENS

Corey Irwin of Loudwire reports:

David Lee Roth thinks he knows why Sammy Hagar keeps talking about him.

In a video posted to YouTube (which can be seen below) titled The Ballad of Popsicle SamVan Halen’s original frontman concluded that the Red Rocker must have been “sex probed” by aliens.

“According to Sam, he was abducted by aliens,” Roth explained, referring to Hagar’s belief that he had an alien encounter as a teenager.

“I know that when you’re abducted by aliens you get sex probed,” Roth insisted. “I am compelled to solicit this sordid subject in an effort to explain Sam Hagar’s conduct. For the last 10 summers I haven’t said a single syllable about him. Not one. I defy you. And in the face of a constant fart gas aimed in our direction here at the Mojo Dojo Diamond Dave Laboratories. And I think we’ve arrived at both the technical and the medical answer that may explain some of Sammy Hagar‘s conduct and his constant spew of diarrhea vitriol in our direction. Sammy Hagar was abducted by aliens and he was sex probed.”

Roth went on to ponder how an alien might examine a human, ultimately admitting he had “no idea” of the means or apparatus that would be used.

“But what I do know with absolute accuracy is that if you take a half of a popsicle and you jam it into a cassette tape player, no matter how carefully you extract it, that tape player will never play the same again,” Roth concluded. “No matter how carefully you try and fix those delicate little parts. And it’ll get worse and it’ll seem like the singer that you used to [be] will stop making sense whatsoever. A lot like Sam.”

Roth’s wild alien theory is just the latest chapter in the ongoing war of words between the former Van Halen singers. In November, following the announcement of his Van Halen-focused tour, Hagar haphazardly invited Roth to join. “If David Lee Roth wants to come out and join us, come on, motherfucker. You are welcome,” the Red Rocker declared. Days later, Roth issued a response: “I’m ready to go. Let’s do this.”

Despite what seemed like a possible agreement, Hagar soon clarified that his invitation was for Roth to “sing a song on a show or two… if he can remember the words.” He added there was “no f–king way” he’d agree to a full tour with Roth.

Sammy Hagar recently announced, The Best Of All Worlds Tour, with bandmates, Michael Anthony (Van Halen Chickenfoot, The Circle) Jason Bonham (The Circle) And Joe Satriani (Chickenfoot), list of tour dates are available, here.
