KERRY KING MAKES IT OFFICIAL: DEBUT SOLO ALBUM, “FROM HELL I RISE,” SET FOR A MAY 17TH RELEASE, DEBUT SONG “IDLE HANDS” RELEASED TODAY

The Los Angeles Forum, just before midnight on November 30th, 2019.  Slayer’s Kerry King stood center stage; his signature chains hung from his belt; he walked over to stage right, unhooked the chains and held them high, dropped them onto the stage floor, turned around, and walked off the stage.

“I knew early on that I wasn’t done, and I had no intention of not continuing to play,” said King

With enough new material for two full albums, all written by King, if it hadn’t been for the COVID pandemic, his long-awaited solo project would likely have emerged in 2020. For his debut album, From Hell I Rise, due out May 17th on Reigning Phoenix Music, King, on guitar, enlisted drummer Paul Bostaph (Slayer), bassist Kyle Sanders (Hellyeah), Phil Demmel (formerly Machine Head) on guitar, and vocalist Mark Osegueda (Death Angel). Working with producer Josh Wilbur (Korn, Lamb of God, Avenged Sevenfold, Bad Religion), the vast bulk of King’s solo album was recorded at Henson Studios in Los Angeles in about two weeks and was finished this past June. The album can be pre-ordered here.

“I didn’t know what to think, you know, it’s Kerry King from Slayer, who I’ve heard a million times,” said Wilbur.  “He’s a very strong presence.  I wouldn’t say Kerry has an ego, but he has confidence in himself, which is a good thing.  That’s what you want in your rock stars and in your band.  He never comes off as a jerk or mean guy.  But he does know exactly what he wants.  He doesn’t beat around the bush.  He’s like, ‘I don’t want to do that, but I want to do this.’  Very direct, but it comes from a place of confidence, and not from a place of anything else.  I really enjoyed working with Kerry.”

According to King, the new music consists of “various religious topics, some war entries, heavy stuff, punky stuff, doomy stuff, and spooky stuff, with Herculean speeds achieved. “If you’ve ever liked any Slayer throughout any part of our history,” he adds, “there’s something on this record that you’ll get into, be it classic punk, fast punk, thrash, or just plain heavy metal!”

Also announced today is the release of Idle Hands, the debut track from King’s upcoming solo project. It’s fast, it’s aggressive, it will smash you up against a brick wall, leave you breathless…and wanting more. You can listen to it out below.

As King admits, “Even with a record in the can, I’ve still got so many songs that need to be finished. This is what I know how to do…number one being music, number two being metal. It’s been a part of my life for 40 years, and I’m nowhere near being done.”

From Hell I Rise track listing:

1.  Diablo
2.  Where I Reign
3.  Residue
4.  Idle Hands
5.  Trophies Of The Tyrant
6.  Crucifixation
7.  Tension
8.  Everything I Hate About You
9.  Toxic
10. Two Fists
11. Rage
12. Shrapnel
13. From Hell I Rise

“All of us at RPM are very excited to be working with Kerry King, and it’s an honor to be working his first solo album,” said RPM‘s co-founder and President, Gerardo Martinez. “The joy of working on Slayer‘s last album, Repentlessand to be reunited with my brother on his new musical journey doesn’t get any better.”

BEASTO BLANCO RELEASES NEW SONG & VIDEO FOR “RUN FOR YOUR LIFE”; BAND FRONTED BY CALICO COOPER & CHICK GARRIC TO RELEASE ALBUM “KINETICA” IN 2024

The formidable powerhouse Beasto Blanco are back in 2024 with new single Run For Your Life, produced by Chris Harms / Lord of the Lost. It’s the first taste of their forthcoming new album, KINETICA, coming later this year via COP International Records that aspires to capture the visuals, energy, love, sex, sweat, robots, and raw animalistic essence that defines the band.

This adrenaline-fueled track Run For Your Life kicks things off with a sonic and lyrical call to face fears and trust bestial instincts. In the accompanying music video, Beasto Blanco charges full force into life amid intergalactic chaos, pursuing their cybernetic Machine Girl warrior Queen. The epic hunt unfolds, with the band’s sound leading the charge. Beasto Blanco refuses to run, embodying the spirit of the less than perfect, the flawed, and the free.

See the music video for Run For Your Life. below.

Calico Cooper says of the track, Run For Your Life is a track about stamina. The sheer force of will it takes to dig deep and run from any black holes sucking you in. To not be crushed by the destruction. But to run hard and fast… for your life. You have the power to save yourself. And it’s worth it.

Beasto Blanco features the electrifying collaboration of Nashville-based shock rockers Chuck Garric (Alice Cooper) and high priestess Calico Cooper, delivering an instant knockout blow. With an explosive sound and captivating visuals, Run For Your Life is the perfect balance of raw power and infectious melodies that showcases Beasto Blanco’s refreshing authenticity as a beacon of genuine, unapologetic rock ‘n’ roll.

Adds Christian Petke, founder of COP International Records, “I have been working in the industry for over 30 years and I have never represented a band that is this focused and driven. Beasto Blanco’s musicianship and professionalism is just mind-blowing. I am absolutely in love with their sound and energy; here is a band that effortlessly combines deep rock ‘n’ roll roots with 21st century attitude and technology. The icing on the cake is the fact that they are totally fun to work with.”

In addition to the new music, Beasto Blanco has been confirmed for appearances at several European festivals this summer, including Wacken, Ur Rock, and Plague Noir with more dates coming soon.

Lineup:

Chuck Garric (long time Alice Cooper bassist) on guitars and vocals

Calico Cooper on vocals

RHOF-inductee and guitar legend Ace Frehley releases a new single, Walkin’ on the Moon, today. This is the second track from Ace’s forthcoming album, 10,000 Volts, which will be released on February 23rd.  Produced and co-written by Ace and Steve Brown, the uncontainable energy on the 11-tracks showcases some of Ace’s best works since his ’78 solo album, preorder here.

On Walkin’ On The Moon, Ace’s voice rings out between towering distortion as a lovestruck hook echoes, When I wake up, you’re all I see. You got me walkin’ on the moon! His string bends practically engage in a call-and-response with the refrain while another celestial solo resounds. An alt-cover, solar flare vinyl variant of this single is available now here.

The entertaining visualizer was directed by Alex Kouvatsos from Black Wolf Imaging. Watch below.

Ace will also meet fans in NYC at an in-store on February 24th from 1-5 pm at Sam Ash, 333 West 34th Street, NYC. In 1987, he dropped Frehley’s Comet.Following Anomaly in 2009, he went on to make history once again. His 2014 Space Invader LP captured #9 on the Billboard 200 and emerged asThe only solo album by a past or current KISS member to reach the Top 10 on the chart.” 2016’s Origins Vol. 1, bowed at #1 on the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums Chart and in the Top 5 of the Billboard Top Rock Albums Chart. He notably maintained his momentum with Spaceman [2018].
