BRUCE DICKINSON SAYS HE IS “GLAD” IRON MAIDEN IS NOT IN THE ROCK HALL, AND IF EVER INDUCTED “I WILL REFUSE”

ron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson says if Iron Maiden were ever inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, he’d refuse the invitation.

Dickinson hit the headlines last month when he said the Rock Hall was “an utter, complete load of bollocks.”

Asked by The Jerusalem Post about those comments and if he thought the band had been overlooked by the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, Dickinson replies, “I was so annoyed with that coverage because they took my statement out of context to make it seem like I was upset that we weren’t in the hall of fame.

I’m really happy we’re not there and I would never want to be there. If we’re ever inducted I will refuse – they won’t bloody be having my corpse in there.”

He adds, “Rock N’ Roll music does not belong in a mausoleum in Cleveland. It’s a living, breathing thing, and if you put it in a museum, then it’s dead. It’s worse than horrible, it’s vulgar.”

The vocalist and pilot was also asked what he would pick if he had to choose between flying and singing.

Dickinson responds: “I would have to choose performing onstage. You only have to look out the window in the sky to figure out that there’s loads of people who can fly airliners pretty well. But there’s not too many people who can front Iron Maiden.”

Last week, Maiden announced they would bring The Legacy Of The Beast tour to the US, Canada and South America throughout 2019.

  1. Agree with Bruce. Rock and Roll is about being in the moment, not about some privately owned group deciding they get to keep score and document who is deemed memorable. If everyone just forgot about the rock hall and didn’t pay them attention they wouldn’t exist.

  2. Maiden is legendary…they don’t need the RRHOF to validate their fame. Rather, a RRHOF induction might slightly tarnish their appeal and coolness as one of the greatest heavy metal bands of all time.

  3. That’s how he feels and I respect that. But do the rest of Maiden feel the same way? The RRHOF is what it is and it’s frustrating If you love real rock and metal music and want to see those artists get the respect they deserve. Last induction ceremony I actually watched was when Kiss went in. Maiden sell out stadiums and arenas all over the world, so they really don’t need the RRHOF telling them they are great and legendary, the band and us fans already know they are.

  4. Even if he refused go if they put em their in I believe Jonny rotten from the Sex Pistols turned down the nomination but they sill put in with others doing some songs at the induction ceremony

  5. Great report from Eddie about this lip syncing epidemic; I ain’t payin’ to see those shenanigans….I really appreciate the intel because now I can close the door on this chapter and move on….maybe that’s the final nail in the coffin that kills rock…and Ed said people don’t even care and will pay to see it anyway…lol….at least Ace doesn’t do it, and I bet Bruce up there wouldn’t do that…..

(Ace put out another good album but he should’ve set aside some time and really worked on his singing for it…the songs are good and so’s his guitar work).
