1/24: JOEY DEMAIO, MARTY FRIEDMAN, KIP WINGER, NEW TMS, MORE

Hope everyone is well and staying warm, especially in my area of NY/NJ where it’s been and will be below freezing for weeks. Looking forward to the MOR Cruise this year for sure after this weather! Final days to enter for the free cabin on this site. Just hit the banner.

1/22: THIS WEEKS TMS LIVING COLOUR, SEVENDUST, JOEY DEMAIO, MORE.

Just got back home after a nutty 24 hours in NYC. Had a massive snow storm here that started by me in NJ around Noon yesterday. But because we are doing TMS weekly we had to do a new episode last night for air this Saturday. So everybody battled the elements and made it in for what was a fun show but not without it’s challenges. For me a nearly 4 hour ride in what usually takes around an hour. Thankfully all our guests are NY area based, and they all also put in the effort to make the show happen as well as our great crew and audience. Huge thanks to Morgan Rose of Sevendust (who was also in NJ yesterday) as well as Corey Glover and Vernon Reid of Living Colour (who came from Staten Island and upstate NY) and guitarist Joel Hoekstra (lives in NYC). Turned out to be a fun show despite all the drama of the weather. We had a little less audience than normal due to roads being closed and travel being so difficult, but the people that did make it were really troopers and grateful for your incredible support for TMS! Hope you had fun and got home safely. I ended up staying in NYC and just getting home now and digging out my driveway. See this episode premieres this Saturday night at 11P ET on VH1 Classic and also features an appearance via Metal Modem from Joey DeMaio from Manowar (who will also be on my radio show to premiere new music this Friday night).

Next Tuesday’s taping will feature Frank Bello, David Ellefson, Bumblefoot (on guitar) and Halestorm.

1/20: THANKS FOR WATCHING NEW TMS, RADIO GUESTS TONIGHT.

1/18: THAT METAL SHOW BACK TONIGHT ALL NEW!

Hope you guys all enjoy the kickoff of That Metal Show Season 13 tonight on VH1 Classic! This episodes was filmed just this past Tuesday and is our first to originate from NYC since we first started the show over 5 years ago. It was Zakk Wylde’s birthday and we have some fun with him, and also welcome first time guests M Shadows and Jason Hook. The new shows air ONLY on VH1 Classic 11PM ET tonight and every Saturday night for the next 12 weeks. They will repeat right after they debut again at Midnight and through the week. Thank you all for watching and hope you like the all new shows.

Next weeks show we shoot this Tuesday and will include all first time guests; Corey and Vernon of Living Colour, Morgan from Sevendust and Joel Hoekstra (TSO, Night Ranger) on guitar.

If in NJ are me, Don & Jim will be performing a live stand up show tonight at Mexicali Live in Teaneck NJ. We go on 8P sharp. Live music after we wrap up around 9:30. 1/15: FIRST TMS TAPING DONE, LIVE APPEARANCES COMING UP, MORE

Phenomenal first day of taping all new That Metal Show last night in NYC. New set, studio, and being back in NYC was all great. Really loved doing one show as oppose to our old schedule doing two a day and all of them in one week. Shooting one a week now gets fresher stuff on the air and more often. 12 all new shows kick off this Saturday with what we shot yesterday featuring Zakk Wylde (we celebrated his birthday on set in grand style!), M Shadows (great to finally get a member of A7X who are red hot these days with back to back #1 albums) and Jason Hook (he shredded and gave away a guitar). Think you guys will love the new shows. Many of the usual features back in as well as some new ones. We will rotate stuff out from week to week. Don’t miss the premiere this Saturday 11/10C ONLY on VH1 Classic. Great to be back doing TMS!

Next show we tape will be next Tuesday and feature Vernon and Corey from Living Colour, Morgan from Sevendust, and Joel Hoekstra (Night Ranger, TSO, Rock Of Ages) playing guitar.
