Legendary rock photographer Ross Halfin has teamed up with Rufus Publications for the publication of Randy Rhoads By Ross Halfin, a celebration of one of the most influential hard rock/heavy metal guitarists of all time. This extensive photo book features many classic and unseen shots of the former Ozzy Osbourne and Quiet Riot guitarist chosen by Ross from his personal archive.
Halfin announced the completion of Randy Rhoads By Ross Halfin in a tweet writing, “Just finished this today. My new book on Randy Rhoads which will be coming soon via Rufus Books . I’ve gone through my archive to uncover loads of never before seen photos and I hope some very nice surprises for you . #rosshalfin #randyrhoads”
Rhoads’s bandmate in Ozzy’s group, bassist Rudy Sarzo, gave the book his stamp of approval, tweeting, “@RossHalfin was not only our unofficial band photographer but also a tour bus mate, a trusted confidant and an awesome Hang. He had photographic access to Ozzy’s world like no one else. I’m really looking forward to his book.”

This is gonna be awesome! Hard to believe it’s been 39 years since his tragic death. Glad, I had the privilege to see him with Ozzy shortly before his passing…..Randy Rhoads, Tommy Aldridge, Rudy Sarzo, and Don Airey…what a great band performing with Ozzy that night.
Yes, R,
It is so sad 🙁 You really were blessed to have seen him.
D
You were at the right place at the right time for sure Rattle.\mm/ Sure wish I’d know about Ozzy back when i was 9/10 years old living in Ontario Canada, but my parents and older brother weren’t that cool. Lol
I’m all over this book. Hope it doesn’t sell out.
I will regret forever that I never had the opportunity to see Randy Rhoads in a live setting. I was too young during his brief but awesome career to attend concerts and not a chance in the world that my anti- rock n roll parents would’ve taken me.
Myk, I had a chance to see Ozzy, with Rhoads, on the Blizzard tour with Motorhead as the opener, and I didn’t attend the show. One of those “I kick myself in the a$$ today” moments…..
I saw randy many times with quiet riot in 70s at starwood…etc… being a guitar player myself…he left lasting impression…also struck up friendship with him and Kevin… inspired me to start my own semi successful band in 80s and 90s…he was truly one of a kind…many great guitarist my era growing up in LA..that I got to see in clubs and back yard parties..Snow,VH,ratt,crue,dokken…such a great time…!!!!!!
You knew him??? Do tell and what was the name of your band??
Dana…yes I knew them both…Kevin more than randy…I used to see Dubrow slot after randy left for ozzy…also saw last QR show with randy at starwood…name of band was tough luck….played around hollywood and the OC…had good following but never went anywhere…did do a couple of shows with love/hate and great white…kinda ironic then…since jizzy is singing for modern QR…lol..band disbanded after call from Florida saying there was a band signed called tuff luck…Did some studio work for some local bands and kinda moved on…but I still love playing…and got slot of fond memories of a great time in music….
Wow, so cool!!! Any tea you can spill on the great RR?
