As previously reported Stone Temple Pilots announced that they had “terminated” frontman Scott Weiland.
Hours after news of his dismissal, Weiland released his own statement.
“I learned of my supposed ‘termination’ from Stone Temple Pilots this morning by reading about it in the press,” he said. “Not sure how I can be ‘terminated’ from a band that I founded, fronted and co-wrote many of its biggest hits, but that’s something for the lawyers to figure out. In the meantime, I’m looking forward to seeing all of my fans on my solo tour which starts this Friday.”
Weiland’s solo tour starts Friday in Flint, Michigan and the singer will reportedly be performing songs from Stone Temple Pilots’ first two albums, Core and Purple.

DeLeos take this too far… Only by not wanting to play not hits, please they could equilibrate these points of view.. Stone Temple Pilots deserves a better ending…
There is saying: There is no such thing as a bad group only a bad group leader. Weiland has been proof of that for years, oh well not a big deal. There are alot of awesome bands to follow out there.
So Scott gets fired from STP. A band he’s not currently touring with but is doing a solo tour of STPs most popular records…. Hum? What caused the friction?
Something tells me after a little bit of time (and bills to pay) the brothers and Scott will put it back together. If not… Mr. Weildand there is a Mr McKagan and Mr Slash on the phone for you.
Please don’t quote me, but I am pretty sure that Slash has expressed in previous interviews that he is not interested in bringing Weiland back to Velvet Revolver.
