Zakk Sabbath, the all-star Black Sabbath cover band featuring guitarist/vocalist Zakk Wylde, bassist Rob “Blasko” Nicholson and drummer Joey Castillo, will release a limited-edition EP, Live In Detroit, on June 16th via Southern Lord Recordings.
The three tracks comprising Live In Detroit were captured at the band’s thundering performance at The Fillmore in Detroit, Michigan on October 28th, 2016.
Southern Lord will release Live In Detroit as a one time, vinyl-only pressing in multiple color variants. Additionally, the band will have the Live In Detroit EP available for purchase throughout their upcoming tour (see dates below).

Zakk Sabbath will embark on its first-ever U.S. headlining tour next month, paying tribute to heavy metal’s most important band of all time. The month-long trek will commence on May 18th and run through June 17th, with stops at this year’s Rock On The Range and Rocklahoma.

I would LOVE to see Zack on this tour! I have seen a couple You Tube videos of him playing Sabbath songs with these guys, and they are AWESOME! Zack is such a gifted player, and he plays these songs with respect to Tony Iommi’s playing, but also throwing in his own style. Just Killer!
When I was young, a friend from high school in NJ was taking guitar lessons, and said that his teacher had another student who was extremely advanced and could play Al Di Meola note for note as a teen. He told me the students name was Jeff Wielandt. I never expected this.

I saw Zakk Sabbath last November open for Clutch. Should have been the other way around. Clutch is good but never got into them. I was completely drenched when Zakk’s set was finished.
Going to see Zakk Sabbath at the Hawthorne here in Portland. Small venue, so it should be loud and heavy. \mm/
