A message to the loyal fans of That Metal Show from Eddie, Jim & Don:
We are sorry to report that VH1 Classic will not continue to make any new episodes of That Metal Show. It has been an incredible run of eight years, roughly 125 episodes and some really cool specials. The global response to TMS has been simply amazing, and we will be eternally grateful for the support from the rock and metal fans that have showed us so much love. We truly would have never made it as long as we did without you! A huge thanks also to the great crews we had over the years both in NYC and Los Angeles, to our producer Jeff Baumgardner, and to all the executives at VH1. And finally, thanks to the hundreds of artists that joined us on our set, had fun with us, shared their stories and many, many laughs. From the biggest names in rock history, to the up-and-comers: we thank you all for being a part of it.
Of course we very much want to keep That Metal Show alive, and with the blessing of VH1 Classic, we’ve got the keys to the show and are currently searching for a new home. We’re not sure where we’ll land, but we hope to be back in our studio and your living rooms as soon as possible. In the meantime, keep an eye out for us on the road and come say, “Hello.”
Thank you for watching all these years, and we’ll keep you posted as soon as we have news to share.

Thanks for those 8 great years of hard rock and metal! I’m sure you’ll find a network to keep the show alive.
Okay Eddie, if you do indeed get picked up by another network (and I hope that you do), one thing you would need to do first and foremost to get these ‘dream’ guests finally on is to change the name of the show. By that I mean ditch the word ‘metal’. The classic artists detest that word to be associated with them or their music. Jimmy Page is a big example. This is all of course, in my opinion and also imo why these artists have refused to do your show.
I think VH1 not even going HD after EVERY SINGLE OTHER CHANNEL on the planet did ten years ago should have been warning enough. Oddly, Palladia is (although that channel disappeared from Cablevision last year…grrrr…). VH1 is part of eMpTyV/Viacom, so it’s not like the company doesn’t have money. But, to me, it just looks like Viacom is set to have VH1 just wither away and die – hence no original programming. Hell, eMpTyV isn’t even a music channel anymore, so why would they care about VH1 at this point?
Someone suggested Netflix as an option. At first, I was like “NFW!” But, the more I think about it, the more it could work. I also know that YouTube has its OWN studios you can use in New York (it could be Brooklyn, not 100% sure) to create your own content. But, that may be too amateur-level. There are plenty of channels that are dying for content. SpikeTV, AXS, etc are just a few of the dozens of possible outlets TMS can move to. I just hope an exec out there sees the value the show has and takes it up a few notches.
Plus, how else are we going to get our Jennifer fix??????
Wait a minute… today is Paul Stanley’s birthday…you don’t think…?
I’ll add to the chorus of fans who will miss the show. Watching TMS inspired me to go out and catch the guys when they came to Portland, twice. Many highlights, but I remember Nugent’s visit, Angus and Brian showing once again what great guys they are, Bill Ward, Manson all screwed up on absinthe, that guy who tatooed TMS on his arm. Too many to mention.
What will happen to the set, especially that big raven?
