11/7: HEADED TO TOUR MEXICO WITH DEEP PURPLE!

Starting tomorrow night I am about to embark on a tour of Mexico with Deep Purple. This is an amazing opportunity offered to me by the promoter Rock Nation. I’ll be hosting the bands shows throughout the country (dates on the home page) starting in Monterrey this Friday night. In Flames is the special guest. I’ve long had great support from Mexican rock fans who hear my shows and watched That Metal Show. It will be great to be able to really spend some time seeing the country with an iconic rock band on their final tour. If you are in Mexico and attending the shows hope to see you. I will also be doing my daily SiriusXM show on Volume live as usual 2-4P ET from the various cities and hopefully with some band members on air. Be sure to follow on Twitter for up to the second info @EddieTrunk . And if you listen on Volume I’ll keep you posted daily there as well. Please note my Hair Nation show on Monday’s is off till 11/26 due to travel. The daily 106 show is unchanged and live daily.

Joe Perry is my new podcast posting tomorrow. More from Mexico when I can post here.

  1. That’s all this “Last Child” needed to hear! I’m all over tomorrow’s podcast! Safe travels in Mexico, Eddie! I envy you, you’re so lucky to be traveling around with Deep Purple! Don’t get “Lazy!” Keep on “Space Truckin’!” 😉

  2. I got this cool rotation of albums going in my car…in this order:
    Abbey Road
    “ZoSo”
    Hotter Than Hell
    Van Halen II
    Back In Black
    Abominog
House of Blue Light – – my favorite Purple album; great songs, even “Call of the Wild,” which is such a great song; it would fit right in on a Huey Lewis record by way of Thin Lizzy.
    Paranoid
    Some Girls
    British Steel
    “Metallica”

You know, Doug I don’t think Keith Richards is going to hell…he’s done drugs but what else has he done? I don’t see him getting with underage girls…I just don’t think Keith would do that.

    1. Dude, really? It was a figure of speech – “heaven doesn’t want him and hell’s afraid he’ll take over!” It’s a joke, you know, ha ha? Nevermind

  3. …I wouldn’t want someone saying that about me..”heaven won’t have him..” you talk about Keith like that because he’s a celebrity but he’s a human being like you or anybody else…that’s what’s so messed up about people’s comments …they talk about these famous people like they’re not even human.

    1. T-shirts, bumper stickers, Jackyl, Shannon, Sympathy For The Devil, 99 bottles of beer on the wall…
      Cheers to Keith Richards!
Caution: when using phrases, be sure to specify exactly what you mean, otherwise you will have to explain yourself, over, and over, and over…
“Heaven won’t have him?” Where did that come from??

  4. I googled the phrase and it’s from The Fisherman, a book by John Langan, and I am glad to know that Doug is somewhat of a scholarly fellow and I guess I shouldn’t be surprised….

I just have a different view on that type of thinking, the Devil is winning and the world is so messed up right now….I think my grandparents’ generation was the last one that had any common sense.

I also think there is something fundamentally decent about Keith Richards that got lost on many others who went into the same line of work he did….he got crazy but I just don’t see him really getting involved in dark matter;….maybe I’m wrong, but that’s what I think.

Happy Holidays to the crew, my friends on here, I hope you know who you are!

    1. Keith Richards is a survivor, continuously defies the odds, hence the phrase/expression.

Who would’ve thought a phrase that’s been around forever could get twisted and spun into so many different directions? I hope you’re happy, Shannon, now I really have a headache! For the last time, “heaven doesn’t want me, and hell’s afraid I’ll take over” is just an expression!! (And a song by Jackyl as well) now, where’s my aspirin??
