SINGER STEPHEN PEARCY QUITS RATT

pearcybookcover Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy has released the following statement:

“After 30 years creating the band Ratt and losing a real brother, Robbin, it’s time that I personally part ways with the band.
I am officially done with having anything to do with them due to the constant turmoil, unresolved business, personal attacks/threats in the public forum, and most of all, the disrespect to the fans.

I’m very content and proud of the legacy and the music I’ve created. This music will live well beyond any of our lifetimes.

I owe no one anything but a huge heartfelt thank you for coming to the party for the last 30 years.
With much respect, life goes on and the music I created will continue to be heard for years to come despite the dark clouds that have lingered for far too long.

I will personally continue to make music and perform live shows.
See you out there.
Sincerely,
SEPearcy”

Ratt’s last album was 2010′s Infestation.

Sorry to hear that Stephen Pearcy has left RATT, which sounds like this is permanent decision. Their last album ‘Infestation’ I thought was probably their strongest album. At least one of the top two, IMO.
A lot of people don’t like classic bands going forward with a new singer but, if RATT decides to go that direction I have no problem with it. If the music they produce is good then the music is good. Who cares what the name of the band is. Some current examples of this would be the new Queensryche album with Todd La Torre and yes, the new Great White album ‘Elation’ with Terry llous on vocals. Or how about the last two Accept albums ‘Blood of Nations’ and ‘Stalingrad’ with Mark Tornillo? Their best output since Metal Heart. Anthrax with John Bush was fantastic when he replaced Joe Belladonna. For those who like the faster stuff how about Apollo Papathanasio in Firewind? And don’t forget the best Motley Crue album was sung by John Corabi. So go on RATT, find a solid vocalist and continue to make some great music. It certainly is better than most of the junk that is being produced today.

the john corabi album was a very good one. not a bad song on that one. would have been interesting to hear vince cover some of those songs.
