QUEEN TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM WITH UNRELEASED FREDDIE MERCURY SONGS

queen400 Speaking with the BBC Radio Wales on May 23rd, Queen guitarist Brian May revealed the band would be releasing a new collection of music later this year that will include previously unreleased songs sung by Freddie Mercury.

“We found a few more tracks with Freddie singing and all of us playing and they are quite beautiful,” May said, speaking with radio host Wynne Evans. “It is a compilation but will have this material that nobody in the world has ever heard. I think people will really enjoy it.”

May said the album’s title will most likely be Queen Forever and should see release towards the end of the year.

“Most of it comes from the ’80s when we were in full flight,” May continued. “It is quite emotional. It is the big, big ballads and the big, big epic sound. It wouldn’t have been if we hadn’t have done this restoration job. We had to start from scratch because we only had scraps. But knowing how it would have happened if we had finished it, I can sit there and make it happen with modern technology.”

Why? I think the reason why these unreleased songs never saw the light of day to begin with, is because Freddie felt they weren’t good enough to be released. Leave well enough alone and Freddie to rest in peace.

Don’t jump to conclusions. Maybe it’s stuff that was being worked on but never was finished because Freddie was too sick. I say bring it on!

Agreed. MADE IN HEAVEN was not very good. INNUENDO would have been a great swansong for one of the best ever.

Hard to tell without hearing it first. Keith Richard hated Satisfaction even though he wrote it and didn’t think anybody would like it, little did he know.

Some early Kiss stuff was not very good when they recorded with Wicked Lester but the songs got a new kick in the ass and became classics. Just too hard to say without hearing it. i would think recording with Adam Lambert though would be a better way to go new songs with a new direction and classic style.

I think it would be interesting to hear. Even a sound check from Queen is probably better than half the bands out there today. Who knows maybe one of the songs will be a full on hit. I’m sure they don’t need the money for it has to be quality for them to release it. I’m looking forward to hearing the tracks.

I want to hear it……I could give a damn less if any of those songs didn’t make it back then, this is now. And just because Freddie isn’t here with us physically doesn’t mean he isn’t with us in spirit……Joe in The Cuse
