KISS RELEASE THEIR OWN STATEMENT REGARDING THE RNRHOF INDUCTION, BAND CLAIMS “WE NEVER REFUSED TO PLAY WITH ACE AND PETER”

kiss-return KISS have released a statement on their official website addressing the Rock Hall induction. Here is what it states:

“To All Our Fans In Regards To The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame:

Out of respect, Ace and Peter’s recent statements demand a quick response to you, our fans.

Our intention was to celebrate the entire history of KISS and give credit to all members including long time present members Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer, and additionally Bruce Kulick and Eric Carr all who have made this band what it is, regardless of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame’s point of view.

Although KISS has moved forward far longer without them, Ace and Peter are at the very foundation of what we have built and this would all be impossible had they not been a part of it in the beginning.

It is over 13 years since the original lineup has played together in make-up and we believe the memory of those times would not be enhanced. Contrary to claims made through the media we have never refused to play with Ace and Peter.

We have spent 40 years dedicated to building KISS without quitting or wavering as the band has moved forward with huge tours and platinum albums through different important lineups for forty years, to this day.

KISS has always been a band unlike any other. That is why we started KISS. That is why we continue KISS. Being unlike other bands also means making choices and decisions unlike other bands.

This is understandably an emotional situation where there is no way to please everyone.

To bring this to a quick end, we have decided not to play in any line-up and we will focus our attention on celebrating our induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

We are excited and are looking forward to seeing you all on the KISS 40th Anniversary worldwide tour.”

LOL……promoting a 40th anniversary tour at the end of the statement. Let’s remember the one and only thing…without Ace and Peter, who created their own make up schemes, that WANNA BE HALF ASS GUITAR player wanna be Ace Frehley, Tommy Thayer wouldn’t have make up to wear. And neither would Eric without Peter and there wouldn’t have been a band named KISS. No 80’s KISS, nothing. So as usual Paul and Gene knock on the HOF because that can’t get their way and cry like little bitches. And in turn the fans take the hit again. But we are supposed to go and spend 100 a ticket for a 40th anniversary tour!!! I’ll pass just as I have since the end of the Farewell Tour. I will never give KISS another penny of my money. EVER!! Fuck you Paul and Gene and your cover band while a Tommy keeps licking your ball sacks.

I respect this decision. Ace and Peter deserve to be there for the awards and acceptance speeches, but the band is no longer the original four and all of the contributors should be able to play at least since they are not being recognized by the HOS for their contributions. Since that can’t be done, there will be no live set. Unfortunate, but understandable. I’ll catch the current incarnation of KISS on tour instead.

this makes sense….Carr & Kulick should be in too. Also, smart move not to play, saves face all around.

This is about the ORIGINAL KISS – not Tommy Thayer, Eric Singer or anybody else.
Who gives a shit about Tommy and Eric.
They should have just kept it simple – now it is so complicated and there will be no performance at all.
I blame Paul Stanley – Gene seemed open to playing with Ace & Peter, but Paul has a stick up his ass about it. It could have been cool, the original 4 guys, play a couple of classics – now it is awkward.

As much as I LOVE KIS, shortly after the announcement of their induction a copy of Paul’s tweet was posted in response to him being asked if the original group would play. He said ‘It is not gonna happen.’ All we want as fans is honesty.
