KISS RELEASE THEIR OWN STATEMENT REGARDING THE RNRHOF INDUCTION, BAND CLAIMS “WE NEVER REFUSED TO PLAY WITH ACE AND PETER”
KISS have released a statement on their official website addressing the Rock Hall induction. Here is what it states:
“To All Our Fans In Regards To The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame:
Out of respect, Ace and Peter’s recent statements demand a quick response to you, our fans.
Our intention was to celebrate the entire history of KISS and give credit to all members including long time present members Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer, and additionally Bruce Kulick and Eric Carr all who have made this band what it is, regardless of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame’s point of view.
Although KISS has moved forward far longer without them, Ace and Peter are at the very foundation of what we have built and this would all be impossible had they not been a part of it in the beginning.
It is over 13 years since the original lineup has played together in make-up and we believe the memory of those times would not be enhanced. Contrary to claims made through the media we have never refused to play with Ace and Peter.
We have spent 40 years dedicated to building KISS without quitting or wavering as the band has moved forward with huge tours and platinum albums through different important lineups for forty years, to this day.
KISS has always been a band unlike any other. That is why we started KISS. That is why we continue KISS. Being unlike other bands also means making choices and decisions unlike other bands.
This is understandably an emotional situation where there is no way to please everyone.
To bring this to a quick end, we have decided not to play in any line-up and we will focus our attention on celebrating our induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
We are excited and are looking forward to seeing you all on the KISS 40th Anniversary worldwide tour.”

GENE AND PAUL ARE EGO MANIACS AND ARE PRICKS.THEY OWE IT TO ACE AND PETER TO PLAY A FEW SONGS AT THE INDUCTION. ACE HAS ALREADY TOLD THE TRUTH OUT OF HIS OWN MOUTH NOT SOME LAWYER OF HIS LIKE THE LETTER WROTE BY GENE’S LAWYER ABOVE. WHAT A JOKE. NO DISRESPECT TO TOMMY AND ERIC BUT ACE AND PETER SHOULD BE ABLE TO BE ON STAGE WITH THE BAND AND EVERYONE HAVE A GOOD TIME BUT GENE AND PAUL HAS TO RUIN IT FOR ALL THE FANS WHO MADE THEM MILLIONAIRES .WHAT PRICKS GENE AND PAUL IS. Can’t argue the logic of that statement. If the hall were to recognize all members and they were to perform the only ones wearing makeup should bethe original 4..
My opinion of this is the original members that are left should be ashamed of themselves. Us the fans made Kiss who they are. Our loyalty and our hard earned money buying tickets albums and CDs. I for one have lost all respect for Gene and Paul for not having all surviving band members play together for what would have been a memorable experience for all the fans.
In my humble opinion……..bullshit ! The decision not to play with any line up speaks volumes…..gene and Paul have been ass clowns for quite some time now. I know about sales…..and all…..but in my opinion the last good album was destroyer !!!?!!!
Amen brother! The RHOF is recognizing the original line-up ONLY in their induction, per Eddie Trunk. For us die hard fans like me, I am sickened to see Tommy and Eric in those costumes.
I know Eric Singer personally, love his playing but hate to see him in the Cat Man costume. That is Peter’s persona, PERIOD! And for this reason I am glad they are not performing at all!
