1/29: TMS, LZZY, BUMBLE, ELLEFSON, BELLO, WINGER IN MILWAUKEE, MORE

Episode 3 of the new season of TMS is being edited as we speak and will premiere this Saturday night 11P ET on VH1 Classic. We discuss the Motley farewell announcement and welcome guests David Ellefson, Frank Bello (who have a new band together), Lzzy Hale (who joined us via Skype) and Bumblefoot who plays during the show. Top 5 is the best Anthrax songs. Had a blast, hope you like it.

A friend who runs a label shared with me some interesting news about TMS this week. My Pick Of The Week for our debut this season was Scorpion Child. After that show aired the label saw a more than 100% increase in album sales right afterwards. As a matter of fact all of our picks show a major sales spike after we feature them on TMS as does the guests latest products they plug. It’s great to see this show have a positive impact on sorely lacking sales in rock/metal music and I appreciate all you guys watching and responding. These bands can use the help for sure. Was just really cool to see the impact of TMS and how rock music CAN sell if it is presented to an audience that cares about it. And that’s the huge difference, YOU the audience! He also told me when bands do Letterman or Leno the sales spike is not nearly as dramatic. Now clearly those are way way bigger shows and I am not for a minute trying to compare TMS to them. But not everyone who watches them cares about rock. If you watch TMS you do, and that explains the great reactions in sales. So thanks, it all helps the cause of rock and metal music!

My FM radio show featuring the interview with Joey DeMaio airs on all affiliates and online outlets this weekend listed on the site. My SiriusXM interviews are on the SiriusXM app.

Headed to Milwaukee tomorrow. Hope to see you for two nights of Winger at Northern Lights tomorrow and Friday night. Tickets still available for tomorrow show. I’ll be in the lobby selling and signing my books at 7 each night, show starts at 8.

I love Motley Crue’s reasons for retiring. How many bands go out with the original lineup? So many stay too long at the party. So IF they truly end as they say, it’s a classy way to cap an amazing career. We shall see.. Mick Mars will be on TMS this season!

Please be sure to check out the Eddie Trunk/TrunkNation merch in the online store on this site. Appreciate all that have purchased and represent out there. Thanks!

The only way to keep the legacy of metal/rock alive is by listenin’ to it non-stop!

Hey Eddie, my name is Steve from New Martinsville, WV I have been a hard rock, heavy metal band fan since the early 80’s. I heard that type of music and it just appealed to me. My fav band of all time is Motley Crue. I heard the other day they are retiring. Is this true or is it a publicity stunt. They have done this thing before I guy leaves the band and they get somebody else. Or they go away for a while then come back. What’s going on with them really?

    • Eddie on

They had the press conference and they said it’s a final tour. Make of that what you will

Also I’m a huge fan of That Metal Show. You guys kick ass and I watch it every chance I get.

    • Eddie on

      Thanks

Why doesn’t the Crüe get more push for the Rock and Roll Hall. They are the kings of the strip after all.

Eddie, so let’s have the sales numbers for the week before TMS and compare it to the week after. Sounds like the label guy is blowing sunshine up your ass. Every time you say things like this it comes across like you are desperate for something to legitimize what you do. Also what bands are you talking about that are going out without the original line up..Black Sabbath, Bon Jovi, Iron Madden, Slayer, Testament, Dream Theater, AC/DC? Which bands stay too long at the party?

    • Eddie on

Legitimize? It is stunning I can post something that thanks the audience and you can find a way to turn it around as a negative. Some deep issues there my friend, wow. And I need to legitimize a show over 100 episodes long and the longest running program in the networks history? Clueless. I better check with you before thanking my audience (which you are clearly a part of) for something? Amazing how haters will always twist something to find a way to hate.. nice

I picked up the Scorpion Child CD on Amazon after you recommended it Eddie….sounds great….don’t let these fools throw backwardass compliments your way…Question?…who will be back to L.A. first?…That Metal Show or the Rams ??

      Eddie,
God bless ya man. When people like Frank make ridiculous comments like that….just has to be mind numbing.
I appreciate your work and wether a band’s sales go from 1-2 or 1000-2000, doesn’t matter. It’s all good for this great music.

You enjoy being a troll there Frank? Ever have anything at all positive to say? Where the hell else are rock and metal fans going to get a weekly show to talk about the music we love?

You seem like a self centered asshole to me.
