12/21: HOLIDAY RADIO UPDATES, PODCAST UPDATE, VAN HALEN SPECIAL, TMS PARTY, MORE

Busy week. I do my best to check in  here as often as I can, but be sure to follow me on Twitter @EddieTrunk and see the FB fan page I have for daily/hourly updates. Lots going on!

This week on my SiriusXM Volume show I had some great interviews with Neal Schon of Journey (on  the HOF induction), Kip Winger on his Grammy nomination, and drum legend Kenny Aronoff on his new book. Remember all of my TrunkNation shows on Volume can also be accessed for 5 days after they air On Demand on the SiriusXM app. Some will also be my podcast. Tomorrow is the final live TrunkNation for the week as Christmas approaches. Don & Jim will sit in with me and I will feature my top 10 albums of 2016. My show will be back live 2-4P ET for 3 shows between Christmas and New Years next Tues-Thurs. The Monday Hair Nation show is not live again until 1/9.

On the FM radio show this weekend it’s the All Van Halen special! Debuts 11P ET on Q104.3 NYC and WAAF Boston this Friday. Both stations stream free!

My new podcast this week posts tomorrow and free on Itunes and www.PodcastOne.com . Huge special this week featuring all 3 surviving members of Pantera in separate but new interviews. It will also include the recent news making interview with Phil Anselmo. Don’t miss the XL Mega special Eddie Trunk Podcast free as always!

We are giving away a cabin for two on Cruise To The Edge! Enter now under “Contests” on this site and good luck. I’ll be on board for this cruise and MORC broadcasting live!

1/18 I will be hosting the Heavy Metal Hall Of History event at the Anaheim Expo Center in CA. This will be around the NAMM show. Tix on sale now.

The annual TMS Christmas party is tomorrow at Dingbatz in Clifton NJ. Jack Frost and an all star band plays live. Should be a blast. Come out if in NJ.

Hope to check in again here before Christmas, but if I don’t, have a Merry!

The first four VH albums are incredible. The chemistry they had was undeniable. Throw in a few good Eddie stories and I’m there.

VHII was my favorite from the Dave era but being a Sammy fan just the same, 5150 and OU812 are up there as well. Sad to say, the only time I got to see VH was with Gary. I have nothing against Gary, he did a decent job with what he was given at the time, I just wished I got to see Sammy live with them because his reunion tour didn’t come near here. Anyway, will there be a rebroadcast of the Rush and Iron Maiden specials as well?

It’s almost unfortunate that the band name of Van Halen cannot be brought up without the same few comments being brought up. Is Dave going to make new music with the band? Is Sammy going to get back together with the band? At this point, who cares? The original VH recorde were either good or great, and the Sammy stuff was good or great as well. These guys are all getting up there and Eddie is more a former musician than an actual musician, so don’t ever expect any new songs to come out of Eddies supposed collection of thousands of riffs and recordings.

Accept what we have as the end, because it is.
