1/18: THAT METAL SHOW 2013 UPDATE

Great news today as VH1 Classic has officially ordered another season of That Metal Show! Many have asked about when new shows would be coming and to be honest we were wondering soon. As I have said many times, VH1 owns and controls the show and makes all decisions as to when, where and how we do it. Got the notice today and we will be doing all new episodes sometime in April that I imagine will start airing shortly after. Very early in the process and no details yet, but will keep you all posted as to where and when the shows tape, guests, and how to get tickets when I know. Appreciate all your support and good to know more TMS is on the way! More when I know and can share.

Who is Tom Kiefer? I may be old, but he must be ancient

    • Brian Richardson on

Are you serious?!? Tom kiefer is the frontman for cinderella… he’s the one with that legendary gravelly voice, and awesome range. In my opinion, his voice is almost as good, as miljenko matijevic, of steelheart. If you don’t know who that is, all i can say, is youtube it, and listen to that voice!

Anyone who doesn’t know Keifer should just stick to Justin Beiber.

Can’t wait for new season of tms, waiting to see Overkill as guests as well as maybe Vinnie Vincent

    • Eddie on

Overkill was on. You find VV and get him to do an interview and we will have him!

  • Zoran Spasojevic on

Great work Eddie. Would love to see Richie Kotzen on the show as your guest guitarist again.

    • Guilherme on

Yeah, Kotzen! Guest guitarrist, or interview… This guy should be there every season!

Finally!!! I was starting to think my favorite show got cancelled! Sadly, I’m thinking it’s only got another season or two considering the last two seasons had fewer episodes. While I’m glad this wonderful show shall continue for at least a while longer, the question is: How many expected guests do you plan on having (By which I mean famous musicians like Eddie Van Halen, Tommy Lee, Bret Michaels, Dave Grohl, etc.) along with surprise guests (by which I mean less hard rock or less mainstream people Alex Webster, Burton C. Bell, Cronos, Rammstein, Al Jourgessen, etc.) or modern stars (Serji Tanken, Synester Gates, Lzzy Hale, Amy Lee)?

    • Eddie on

The fan guest requests are ENDLESS. Appreciate everyone watching but the show is booked by VH1 and me based on who the NETWORK wants and who is available when we tape.

    • Dave Shamblin on

Thanks Eddie, we know the network holds the key. But you are badass and holding the torch for classic rock and heavy metal, so keep VH-1 on their toes. Know that all of us out here appreciate it. Even if you are a NY Giants fan. Go Niners!

I’m fine with what you guys do, although I think the show should either answer viewer mail on a more regular basis, or have every episode guest (Including the musician who plays into the break) actually participate in the TMS top 5 lists (That means they and the featured guests need to make their own lists-I loved it when Slash and Tom Morello did that).
