1/18: THAT METAL SHOW 2013 UPDATE

Great news today as VH1 Classic has officially ordered another season of That Metal Show! Many have asked about when new shows would be coming and to be honest we were wondering soon. As I have said many times, VH1 owns and controls the show and makes all decisions as to when, where and how we do it. Got the notice today and we will be doing all new episodes sometime in April that I imagine will start airing shortly after. Very early in the process and no details yet, but will keep you all posted as to where and when the shows tape, guests, and how to get tickets when I know. Appreciate all your support and good to know more TMS is on the way! More when I know and can share.

Comments

  1. Dave Shamblin says:

Awesome Eddie! Get Brian Johnson on and find out when AC/DC are going back out on tour…

  2. ALLRIGHT!!! I LOVE THE SHOW!! BY THE WAY, I HOPE EDDIE DECIDES TO WRITE A FOLLOW UP TO HIS FIRST BOOK AS WELL.

    • Coming in Sept, working on it now!

      • Get Phil Anselmo back on the show or members of GHOST

        • I appreciate all the requests for guests for TMS but as stated a MILLION times up to the artists and who the NETWORK wants! Can’t respond to every personal guest request because it just gets nuts after a while. But thanks for watching. EVERYONE wants a certain guest on. 2 simple questions; does the NETWORK want them on? Does the artist want to be on and available when we shoot??

          • Kevin Tackett says:

Eddie, you have someone here who will defend you to the death about UFO. My first memories of metal were my cousin coming down during the summer in the early and mid 80′s when I was a kid and hearing him practicing nothing but UFO’s Obsession, the first Fastway album, and MSG’s Captain Nemo and Ready to Rock on his guitar. He was fanatical about Michael Schenker’s playing, talked about how every guitarist around suburban Detroit was into him, and he even had a homemade hand-embroidered Levi jeans jacket with the MSG logo with a Flying V entwined in it. I talk about them all the time to my friends and have won over a bunch of them. So many of them say …..Wow, how come these guys weren’t bigger than they were? Keep up the good fight!!!

          • But Eddie, From one DJ to another, wouldn’t the Network and You want Requests? And Want to know Who their “watching” , audience they are marketing to, wants to see? Is it not still all about ratings? You seem like a likable guy. Just back up just a bit, and remember how fun it is for your audience to make “requests”…..we love seeing the 80′s and the 90′s and even the 70′s artists!
Thanks for making this show possible…I Love it! You have an audience that wants to learn more. Enjoy the ride!

          • If you are in radio you MUST know what programmers think of requests and what they account for from the total audience.

          • Would be awesome to get evh on the show or maybe have steve luckather as a guest guitarist.

          • TELL EVH! All we can do is ask, which we do to NO response EVERY season!

      • Tim Robins says:

I have been watching TMS religiously for like the past month and loving every minute of it. You seem like such a cool guy on the TV buy a lot of your responding comments on this site kind of make you seem like a jerk, but I guess it’s kind of understandable when getting request after request for artists that you already know and have asked numerous times to be on. One thing I wanted to say I seen the Top 5 list for opening tracks on albums and I couldn’t help but mentioning Enter Sandman, I actually just realized that yesterday lol! Oh yes, and thanks a million for turning me on to John 5, I can’t get enough of him now. Keep up the good work and no offense meant by the jerk statement lol.

        • It is incredibly time consuming to handle all social media, host and produce two radio shows and a TV show. I do my best. I actually do this stuff myself. Not asking for sympathy but if my answers are brief that is why. Only so many hours

          • Cecilia Jones says:

I deeply appreciate that you answer these yourself! Others who have a staffer do it, to me, seem less credible. Your slamming of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is spot on ! Keep it up!

          • I do as many as I can when I have time. Thanks

  3. Patrick Griffiths says:

Great News! Can’t wait to see who the guests are this season. Now let’s get the member section up on the site so I can sign up!

  4. Chris Petry says:

Excellent news! Every episode, whether I’m a huge fan of the featured guest or not, is awesome. You guys are really the only people on TV talking about the music I love and I have massive respect. I know you have no control as to who comes on the show but with new Voivod, Helloween, and Deep Purple (My favorite!)on the way, it sure would be nice if those guys booked a slot. To you, Jim, and Don: Keep it heavy guys!

  5. Great to hear about TMS

  6. david durham says:

how about getting Tom Keifer on TMS

    • asked every season

      • Who is Tom Kiefer? I may be old, but he must be ancient

        • Brian Richardson says:

Are you serious?!? Tom kiefer is the frontman for cinderella… he’s the one with that legendary gravelly voice, and awesome range. In my opinion, his voice is almost as good, as miljenko matijevic, of steelheart. If you don’t know who that is, all i can say, is youtube it, and listen to that voice!

  7. Can’t wait for new season of tms, waiting to see Overkill as guests as well as maybe Vinnie Vincent

  8. Zoran Spasojevic says:

Great work Eddie. Would love to see Richie Kotzen on the show as your guest guitarist again.

  9. Parker Cestaric says:

Finally!!! I was starting to think my favorite show got cancelled! Sadly, I’m thinking it’s only got another season or two considering the last two seasons had fewer episodes. While I’m glad this wonderful show shall continue for at least a while longer, the question is: How many expected guests do you plan on having (By which I mean famous musicians like Eddie Van Halen, Tommy Lee, Bret Michaels, Dave Grohl, etc.) along with surprise guests (by which I mean less hard rock or less mainstream people Alex Webster, Burton C. Bell, Cronos, Rammstein, Al Jourgessen, etc.) or modern stars (Serji Tanken, Synester Gates, Lzzy Hale, Amy Lee)?

    • The fan guest requests are ENDLESS. Appreciate everyone watching but the show is booked by VH1 and me based on who the NETWORK wants and who is available when we tape.

      • Dave Shamblin says:

Thanks Eddie, we know the network holds the key. But you are badass and holding the torch for classic rock and heavy metal, so keep VH-1 on their toes. Know that all of us out here appreciate it. Even if you are a NY Giants fan. Go Niners!

  10. Parker Cestaric says:

I’m fine with what you guys do, although I think the show should either answer viewer mail on a more regular basis, or have every episode guest (Including the musician who plays into the break) actually participate in the TMS top 5 lists (That means they and the featured guests need to make their own lists-I loved it when Slash and Tom Morello did that).

  11. Jeremy Rindahl says:

That is Badass! Only show on TV I must watch. Metal music is forgotten by corporate world. Eddie is the reason I watch. Wish his radio show was in the Billings MT market. Maybe soon?

  12. Heidi Poppy says:

Get Newsted on the show this season! I know you don’t have the budget to go to his studio, but maybe he can bring some of his paintings, or footage of the paintings, with him to your set.

  13. Mookie Dykstra says:

Hey Eddie….love the site upgrade! I’ve only been able to catch a few episodes of TMS, but I’ve really liked all of them. I know you are a huge UFO fan, as am I. You had Michael Schenker on some time in the past, so how about having Phil Mogg as a guest? Would he qualify? I think I remember you saying that to get on the show certain criteria had to be met…..don’t remember what that was, though. Anyway, just a thought!

    Thanks……

  14. David Hail says:

Awesome news and I look forward to another season and I am sure my 2 teenage sons will also be thrilled.

  15. Ffej Herb says:

Awesome news! Looking forward to the new season, guys!

  16. Kris Augustin says:

Great news for TMS! Can’t wait for new shows to start! Get the DVR rolling!

  17. Brian Bulakites says:

Why wont vh1 classic get that metal show out on dvd? Or atleast make for download other than doing it through torrent sites? There all these seasons of it and I know people would buy the dvd if it came out.

    • jackson hantzsche says:

YEAH!!! C’mon VH1 classic!! put out the complete seasons on dvd. i would buy every season, and they would be as sacred as every cd in my massive collection!!!! you’ve got nothing to lose but potential income vh1!? so how bout it huh???

  18. Great news! Can’t wait till the new season starts! John Bush and James Hetfield would make cool guests!

    • Congrats on the new season of TMS…..one of the best shows on TV….If VH1 is so controlling why don’t you shop it to other networks….just a thought…you might get enough revenue from another network to have full scale live performances……try to get GENE and PAUL to stop ducking you….Rock on !

  19. WooHoo!! More TMS! I still think Wolfgang is the guy to ask to get the Mighty VH to come on the show. Love the guest musicians too – congrats Eddie T

  20. Eddie, what’s up with the Jake E Lee sighting on the show?.. I was soo disappointed that you didn’t do an interview.

  21. when will the cheap asses at vh1c do the show in hi def?

  22. Hi Eddie ,I love your show and the guests you bring on their are top notch. I was wondering if there is a chance of getting Bill ward back on? I am a big fan of his and would love to hear more of his side of not being on sabbaths new album and tour and when he is going to bring out another album of his own which has been in the making for a long long time.

  23. In the event this show and VH1 Classic ever do come to a parting of the ways, I would hope you would continue it on as a web broadcast on this site, or something similar. It would be great to see you do your thing without the limitations of a numbers-crunching cable network interfering for a change.

  24. Guest request: Armored Saint, Death Angel, and more King Diamond.

  25. Chris Martin says:

That is great news Eddie!! Congrats!! Wish you were filming when UFO was on US tour..Get our boy Phil Mogg in there..lol Again Great news

  26. It sounds like the guests are out of your hands but wouldn`t having Jake E Lee on be awesome ! One episode for the interview and one for guest guitarists, I`ll keep my fingers crossed.

  27. What about the Van Halen Brothers or DLR? DLR is always down for a interview. anyways don’t have to answer, love the show and glad to hear you guys are coming back, was kinda worried for a min.

  28. Parker Cestaric says:

Considering all the guest requests, what 5 guests would you like to have on the show (2 rules: 1. The guests must be alive and 2. Multiple people can put in any and every choice as long they are or were in the same group.)

  29. That’s great news Eddie! Any shows coming back to NY???

  30. I am a Brazilian fan and I’m looking forward to new season.
Ps: Sorry for my bad English

  31. Trevor kampfl says:

I had to scroll down quite a bit to get past all of these comments so that I could make my own. Of course this show is awesome. Can’t you tell by all of us writing in. This show needs to go on forever. This news made my day.

  32. Arturo Puerta says:

First of all Eddie congratulations for one of the best shows on TV, me and my buds here in Mexico watch your show every week on vh1, i’ll love to see in your show people like Steven Wilson and Chris DeGarmo because i think progresive metal is a big part of metal history and i’ll like to know more about your opinion on that.

    lml

  33. Get Geddy on to talk about how Piazza got screwed with the HOF.

  34. harry maxwell says:

i inquired before about getting the great robin trower on tms.how about a mention of him at least.tms is the best show of its kind anywhere! thank you for turning me on to john5,motorhead and anvil.

  35. Eddie, any word on if / when the show will be broadcast in HD?

  36. Have y’all ever though about haveing kerbordist like Jens Johansson and many other :)

  37. It would be nice to get the Type O Negative guys on TMS and kinda give us some closure on not only a ground breaking band, but also on a metal icon, RIP Peter Steele. Thank you for bringing King Diamond on the show…..maybe Mercyful Fate in the future???

  38. Christina Hinton says:

Hi Eddie, love the show! I think the first guests of the new season should be RUSH to celebrate them FINALLY getting into the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame!!! Just a thought….

  39. I would love to see Steve Vai on, Mili Matijevick, Ripper Owens, Chris Cornell, Jon Oliva, Trent Reznor, and Scott Weiland.

    Anything different no repeat guests!

  40. Scott Olinger says:

Great news,I would love to see more about Pantera. I know you have had most of the members on separately except the late, great Dimebag, but it would be nice to see some kind of tribute like you did with Ronnie James Dio. After all I truly believe Pantera saved metal in the grunge era!!! Keep up the great work!!! A dedicated metal fan! I got cable strictly to see TMS & love your show on Hair Nation & would love to hear you more than once a week!! Maybe when Howard Stern retires, they can give you his channels to dedicate to metal & hard rock!! One channel pure metal & the other pure discussions about the greatest music in the world!!!!

  41. Tommy simonic says:

Any word or information on some of the other hair bands like firehouse or trixter..maybe even roxy blue being on the show..I know it’s up to the network..but you could put a good word in

    • Just an FYI, most bands don’t like being called “Hair Bands”

      • Eddie I know I wrote this a while ago but I just got it today..being April..sorry..anyways I meant no disrespect by the word hair band..It just came out that way..I prefer all the 80s early 90s pop metal or whatever I refered to when I said hair bands…for the record I wept when jani lane died and also was upset when the dodg eat dog album or poison resurrection album didn’t chart so well.as well as having to watch all my other favorite bands fall off.i do however enjoy playing the new roxy blue album and trixter as well..so with that being said are there any chances for any of those kinds of bands to be on that metal show?

  42. Terry Huber says:

Hey Eddie – Great show. So happy to hear you’re back for another season. You couldn’t have picked two better side kicks than Don and Jim. Stump The Trunk segment still blows me away and my favorite phrase is “Take us to break………….” followed by several seconds of amazing licks. The best part is when the camera lands on your guests and seeing their genuine appreciation of talent. Keep up the great work.

  43. I love all your shows, pretty much no matter who the guest is. The NETWORK should be going over the fan requests and then working with the artists! Hope you bring it back to LA, I need you to sign my (your) book!

  44. Any chance of getting DLR or EVH would be cool, heard they might have another album out this year? Even WVH just to see what their future plans were…..Keep up the great job Eddie! Luv TMS! \m/

  45. Roger Mullen says:

I get it about who gets asked and your a slave to scheduling. But you can’t blame us for trying. Especially since you guys have the market cornered . No one else even cares about us or what(or who we like.) Keep up the good work, try as hard as you can and I’ll. Be there to watch every episode…probably twice, lile usual.

  46. Who are U picking for the Superbowl in 2 weeeks since The Giants are Not in the Big Game. I Bleed Big Blue and The Giants are in my Veins. Since U Don and Jim are major Sports Fans U should Try To Stump U with Football Triva mostly on the Giants and The NFL. Listening to Aerosmith Get Your Wings on Spoofiy. This when they are at Drug Obessed Peak. I Like the first 5 Edgey Aerosmith Records.

  47. Wooo glad to hear new season coming soon. I don’t get the chanel but my cousin dose at first he couldn’t understand the show but laughed at the Stump The Trump and he’s been adicted since. Of course I think the biggest guest you could get would be a member from Bon Jovi I perfer Richie Sambora. Also and I know it’s all up to the “Network” but why not have bands that have new music play a song or two like on Leno and Leterman?

  48. Love the show and glad to hear it’s coming back. I know KISS won’t do the show so I won’t waste your time, however how about a “What ever happened to” of the following artists.
    1. Dizzy Dean Davidson of Britney Foxx
    2. The 80s hard rock band Shooting Star

    Thanks

  49. Eddie- How come very rare if any mention of Blue Cheer when talking about metal pioneers? Ultra heavy band BEFORE Sabbath.

  50. April! Can’t wait. Can you start filming tomorrow… just kidding ya Ed.
Loved when Alice Cooper was on although he left early to catch a flight.
Still nice enough to drop by. Need one whole show w/ Alice.

  51. hear is a topic i would love for TMS to discuss, who had the better backing band mates, Ozzy or David Coverdale?

  52. nick meola says:

since we know the rock and roll hall of fame is a complete disgrace, why dont you start a that metal show hall of fame? you could start by inducting black sabbath as they are the godfathers of heavy metal as we know it and then go from there. for a statue you can use a replica of ronnie james dios’ hand giving the sign of the horns. just thought i would throw it out there. your show is the best. thanks for everything you do for rock and roll and heavy metal.

    • Great idea but it takes $$$ I do not have

      • Kale Baldwin says:

Make it like a small thing with guests on the show once every season. There doesn’t have to be an actual “HOF”, just a HOF on the show. Print out the certificates, and present them at the end of every season. Sure, it sounds a little corny, but it still beats one of those overrated gold Grammy thingies!

And then there would be a cool jam in the studio (kinda like when Anvil played)!

  53. hey everybody,
leave it up to eddie! he has proven time and time again that he knows his shit! I have yet to see a guest im unhappy with! im more than sure it will be more of the great guests and features it has always been!!!
    ROCK ON ED!

  54. The show could go on forever like your radio broadcast?…Need to start introducing new bands? I mean newer bands opeth’ kamalot’Nightwish’Ghost’triptykon…The new generation of metal!!!!……………………………….Metal needs to be reawakend in AMERICA START IT HERE!!!

  55. Get twiggy ramirez on tms…

  56. Randy Ransonet says:

Rest of queensryche for their reply?

  57. T. Regan Green says:

Get Chris Holmes on the show with a bottle of Smirnoff.

  58. Paul Leuenberger says:

Just want to say thanks for the show and all the guests making my life a little more enjoyable since this stupid battle with cancer. Everyone on seems like guys a regular person could hang out with. Once again, thanks and someday hope to see a taping.

  59. Greg Bates says:

Eddie, if you did do a web based TMS I would pay a fee to watch and I’m sure a lot of people would do it too. You’re the only reason I have SiriusXM…

  60. Cliff Hritz says:

Love TMS but I must say, Ed. When you tell us not to post that we would like to see certain people on the show, it DOES serve a purpose. We may be stumping you with a guest that you never thought of. We know it’s up to you & VH1. But why would you not want to hear our opinions? THAT serves no purpose. It actually comes across douchey and arrogant and that our opinions don’t matter. We are your fans and viewers who make your show stay on the air. Remember that. Peace!

    • Unless VH1 is reading it and you have a line to the execs there it does not serve a purpose because THEY approve the artists. Post what you want, just trying to save you the effort. After 11 season we know who hasn’t been on, many HAVE been asked. I appreciate everyone who watches but most have no idea how the process works and point fingers about artists being on when they have no idea of the process. For this just to become a forum for artist requests for a TV show that the network controls just becomes bogged down in my view, but do what you will.

    • TMS Fan says:

So the 100th time somebody requests EVH, it becomes a good idea?

  61. Sherri Gibson says:

That is great to hear. This is my autistic son’s favorite show! I hope VH1 decides to put them out on DVD. Thanks for the great show!

  62. Headlesscross93 says:

Hey Eddie I don’t know if this would work or not, but I thought I’d ask anyway. Do you think for the new seasons some of the “Stump the Trunk” questions could be sent either via twitter, or Video questions, sort of like how the “What are they up to?” are sent to the show? Anyway love the show, can’t wait till the next season.

  63. Hi Eddie, love the show. Have you ever thought about having a young and upcoming band play a song of theirs at the very end of each show on the set. What great exposure it would be for them. Take care

  64. Love TMS… love the guests & stump the trunk 2! I cnt wait for new episodes.

  65. Hey Eddie,
Love the show and can’t wait for the new season! As a fellow Rush fan (cool girls do like Rush) I was as passionate as you about their being snubbed by the RRHF. I look forward to watching the show and being able to hear you finally say they are getting the honor they so rightly deserve. Wish the show was on the east coast cuz this Jersey girl would love to be an audience member. Rock on!

  66. I’ve been enjoying the reruns of past shows waiting for the new season and I was wondering if there were any plans to involve the guest artist more in the general conversation or do they just come to play.
Thanks for being the flagship for all things metal and hard rock…..

  67. Jeff Kieliszewski says:

I can’t believe Eddie Trunk (the real Eddie Trunk) responds to the fans personally. Wow.
You F&%cking rock! I love your book. Maybe I should go buy some TMS merchandise. Do you get any dough from the sales of that stuff? If so, I’m buying it. Thanks Eddie! Can’t wait for the new season.

  68. jeff burnell says:

    Hi Eddie
With new showes comming up and Def Leppard doing a stay at the Hard Rock in Vegas. Only
A few hours away (if you are still taping on the west coast) Any chance of doing a show on
    the Event?

  69. how about some of these guests – John 5 (as guest), Les Claypool, Jeff Beck, Steve Vai, Godsmack, Mike Muir, Bruce Dickinson, Chris Goss, Queens of the Stone Age, Ted Nugent, Billy Corgan, Trapt, Jack White to name a few.

  70. Mike Viles says:

Ed I just wanna say you fkn’ rock man keepin’ the metal and rock alive for the masses \m/ Stoked for the new season can’t wait!!!!

  71. Hi Eddie,
With all this talk about the network running things, it makes me wonder who the HELL is running VH1Classic. TMS if by FAR the best thing that every happened to VH1Classic.
What’s with the “Rock and Roll Picture Show” OMG….night after I night I turn on VH1Classic to see “Teen Wolf” or some old John Cryer movie. Really, that’s Rock and Roll? Then there is the “Married with Children” re-runs? Most of their programming, quite honestly, sucks. Are they trying to make money? I love the great concerts they do show, and the countdown type shows, like 100 hardest songs et al. and Pink Floyd weekends etc. but it seems like they are getting farther and fewer in between. By the way, has anyone from PF ever been asked? They are in most Hard Rock fans collection.
Anyway, TMS is a STAND OUT show on VH1Classic and not letting you have more creative control seems about as bright as calling a John Cryer move “rock and Roll”.

  72. Brian Bishop says:

It would be great to feature David Ellefson of Megadeth. He is mentioned on the show frequently and is a fantastic human being who would be a very gracious and informative guest. Looking forward to the new 2013 edition of TMS!

  73. Get Chris Brodrick from Megadeth on the show

  74. I’m 14 and this is my favorite show ever
    Megadeth Rulz

  75. Hey Eddie … I’m happy to hear TMS is doing another season….RIGHT ON!!! Congratulations on you’re success with the show along with Jim and Jon. I love watching the show. I watch them over and over and then again. Personally I think TMS is the only reason VH1Classic network is still airborne. But that’s just my opinion ..Anyway I really get into the show. I like all the segments on the show though I beg to differ on a lot of you Guy’s views …..Like “Most underrated Guitarist ….Frank Marino!!! Marino was doing amazing guitar solos filled with all kinds of techniques he never got credited for. Listen to Frank Marino’s album “Juggernaut the one with Strange Dreams on it that whole recording…Fucking ROCKS!!! It’s hard rocking full of amazing guitar solos played with feel (“stories of a Hero ))

  76. eddie! thank god for you! that metal show is the greatest show ever i hate that no one reconizes great musicians and that the only metal band anyone knows is metallica and its only enter sandman , people dont understand that metal is a lifestyle not just music , so glad u finaly got maiden members on the show thanks , and if you couild also maybe get sum guys or mention hardcore bands that be cool its another genre that doesnt get as talked about, sex pistols and the misfits and bad brains snd agnostic front are just important as sabbath, maiden and metallica ,BUT THANKS FOR ALL THE GREAT SEASONS KEEP UP THE AWSOME WORK!

  77. Glad you’re Back for More. For those making requests of artists; be patient. I requested Jake E. Lee, and voila he made a brief appearance on That Metal Special. And to those who are surprised that Eddie replies personally; I thanked him for delivering Jake and lo and behold, Eddie emailed me back personally. I enjoy the guests, but truthfully I enjoy the show because it’s three normal guys talking about the music they dig. Keep on Rollin.

  78. Hey man i was just wondering when that guns n roses video marathon was earring that your supposed to host? and just a question since you work with the network at vh1 classic, why is their a behind the music for yo mtv raps and not headbangers ball, i think that would be cool, or haveing like the old headbangers ball shows from the 80s on vh1 classic, tms rules dude i hope to go to it someday but i’m in waterbury ct lol

  79. chris goodgion says:

cant wait for the new shows it would be awesome to have van halen on the show

    • We agree, tell them! Notice to EVERYONE who wants to see their favorite major band on TMS, TELL THEM! We can only ask, they must want to do it! Thanks

  80. Love the show eddie! Been a viewer since day 1.would love to see mr. Izzy Sradlin on the show.im a HUGE GNR fan.u hear about slash, duff and of course axl and even steven but never hear from the reserved original member. Where’s Izzy?

  81. Hey Eddie. I know what’s all involved in getting a specific person to be a guest on the show, but I have a suggestion. What would you think about having Neil Schon? Obviously he’s known for being in Journey, but as the guitarist in Hardline and Santana, plus the inspiration if many other guitarists, I think he’d be a great asset to the show. In my opinion he’s very underrated, and I think it would be good for people to know more about him. Obviously he’s pretty much classified as Classic Rock, but by having Paul Rogers on the show, I don’t think having Neil would be crossing any boundaries. I’m looking forward to the new season of TMS reguardless of the guests you have appear, and congratulations! -Bobby G

  82. It would be amazing if Phil Mogg was on His vocals are out of this world but I’m pretty sure he’s already been asked to do it. Eddie what do you think about Jimi Hendrix’s new album People, Hell and Angels? To bad Jimi’s not alive anymore He would’ve been a great guest.

  83. Hello Eddie my name is Erika. My boyfriend and I watch yr show every weekend. My boyfriend Martin has been watching yr show for is your first show started with yr first guest was Lita Ford. We are from the Imperial Valley . We are 120 miles east of San Diego. The town is call Imperial Ca. Martin is a heavy metal classic rock person. We have wanted to go to watch one of your shows. One person that we would like to see is Tom Kiefer. We have see him in SAN Diego twice. Your Show is awesome and keep up the rock for life. Erika and Martin.

  84. Eden Bansh says:

Hi Eddie!! Greetings from Mexico!! We love your show here, I have a question, What do yo think about non very commercial symphonic metal bands such as kamelot, nightwish, etc? I know that vh1 wouldn’t find these bands profitable but I just want to know your opinion on that. And it would be awesome if some bands play live in the show

  85. Richard Bolen says:

Hello Eddie, love the show, i would love to hear what Grim Reaper has been up to, they are one of my favorite bands from the 80′s. Thank’s

  86. Hi Eddie…I never thought that a show like yours would end up on TV, especially considering the current music climate where 2 or 3 genres rule the major airwaves…kudos to you, Don and Jim (and staff) for having three metal torches to keep metal in the limelight…can you believe it’s been over 4 years since Season 1? Wondered what your opinion of the other music networks was, and what elements if any you enjoyed…examples like FUSE or MTV2…one last question, do you ever speak with Matt Pinfield? Between the two of you there are no more questions left unanswered correctly…thanks.–adam

    P.S. Rodrigo y Gabriela…acoustic metal fanatics…love ‘em!

  87. Maureen Hauer says:

Eddie and boys, Congratulations on new season coming up. I was lucky enough to be in the audience for Season 11 when Alice Cooper, Jack Russell, George Lynch and Wild Mick Brown were on. It was an amazing experience which I ll never forget. Everyone associated with the show were so fantastic. I d been living in California for a number of years and am now back living in Australia. By far, my experience on That Metal Show will always be up there with seeing The Beatles in 1964 as one of the best days of my life. Thanks Eddie.

  88. Eden Bansh says:

Damn he didn’t answer me :(

  89. tony ocean says:

Hi Eddie will That metal show ever be released on DVD? thanks for all the great shows looking forward to new season

  90. Joe Stoerger says:

Just a thought, how about for an episode invite, Ace, Peter, Bruce, and Vinnie as an FU to Gene and Paul. I’m sure they ALL have stories to share and the Throwdown could be ‘Who’s the biggest Tool: Gene or Paul?’
What do you have to loose? You’re already on their Sh*tlist because you stopped drinking the kool-aid.
It could be pretty interesting, more interesting than that W.O.F.T. with Axl.

  91. Get EVH AND DLR on TMS or WVH

  92. I’m 59…60 in a few months and I have never had enough of metal. Love TMS! Feels like home.
Thanks for the show. Glad it was renewed. I still think Kiss gets too much attention, but that’s just me. Never get enough of AC/DC….ever! Led Zeppelin is still one of the founding fathers, along with Black Sabbath. Looking forward to new shows. Hey to all of you guys…you are great! Could always hear more about Tool, I’ve been a fan for years. Thank you!

    • Kiss has never been on and won’t do the show, so the attention is really not that great and less and less. Their choice not ours.

  93. Dan woodworth says:

Any idea when you are taping for the new season? I’m going to be on vacation in California in April and would love to attend if possible, but trying to find any type of info seems to be like mining for the next hope diamond. Any info would be great. Everyone does an amazing job on the show. Keep it up! Great to meet Jim Florentine at a Blackberry Smoke show and kudos to him for coming out to support the band and by wearing their T-shirt on That Metal Special!! Awesome!!

  94. Hi Eddie,

Regarding my “thrash” side, I would love to see Gary Holt from Exodus (they should release a new album soon anyway…could be perfect for advertising…)

Also, how about Steven Wilson from Porcupine Tree? Is he done with the Fear Of A Blank Planet sound? If so, it’s a shame. That was a great album.

  95. Eddie if you couod get jason newstead, bobby blitz ellsworth, ted nugent, or even tenacious d or steel panther on the show that’d be the absolute best

  96. Oh and eddie whats going on with twisted sister I havent heard much from them lately

  97. Joe Marmo says:

    Hey Eddie,

Have any members of Uriah Heep ever been invited to TMS?

Uriah Heep and UFO are my two favorite bands. I guess I’m in to bands that start with the letter U.

  98. I am SO relieved to hear that TMS will be back for season 12! I was really starting to worry! Hope you guys are able to get a good roster of guests, new or old. Either way I’ll be tuning in every week! Perhaps I’ll [politely] spam some of my favorite bands’ fb/twitter pages, encouraging them to do the show!

  99. Joe Marmo says:

    Hi Eddie,

Just curious. I heard (which may be a rumor) that you are not a fan of the band “Trouble” I always wondered why they are never mentioned on your show. I am a huge fan of their 80′s Doom albums, and their early 90′s psychedelic metal. Are Jim and Don fans?

  100. 2 things I would like VH1 to do with the show….
I’d like them to let you guys take it on the road, kind of like a TMS national tour. 2nd, I’d like them to add an hour and let you guys play a few videos, give it a Headbangers Ball feel…and help us forget Riki Rachtman as a host. I know they have Metal Mania but I get sick of seeing the same Queensryche and Dio videos over and over.

  101. hey eddie love the show. is there any a chance of a new guns album this year?

  102. EDDIE !!!!!!! In latín América we’re 1000′s TMS fans,
Why? Can’t see the nEw seasons, es el único programa
Que existe de nuestra música y queremos “that metal
Show” actualizado no los pinches programas atrasados
Que pasan en Vh1 en español. Up the irons!!!
    Long live TMS!!!

  103. Ross Pollack says:

Eddie, love the show and looking forward to another season. Would you or the network ever consider having any producers as guests? Kevin Shirley, Bob Rock, Bob Ezrin, Rick Rubin, Martin Birch, etc. Keep up the great work!

    • VH1 controls the guests and wants as much name talent with major recognition as possible, so not likely, but radio shows yes and I have

  104. Hey Eddie,
Do you know if there are any plans to tape TMS in New York again, I ‘d love to attend? Any chance of getting a grunge band on this season?

Thanks and keep up the great work.

    • The show is shot in L.A. because 95% of the musicians we try and book live there. We are all still based in NJ/NY but no plans to shoot here for that reason.

      • Dan Dixon says:

Bring back taping to NY. THere must be cool musicians that are East Coast. Kix perhaps?!

        • So 8 episodes with Kix? And we have them on here in LA. Hardly any musicians live on the E Coast. We do the show for the audience that watches around the world where we can get the most guests. Thanks

  105. Great to hear!!! Love TMS!!! Would really love to see D.D. Verni on as a guest bassist as I’m sure you’ll agree Eddie , D.D. is an insane bassist!!! Doug Blair on guitar would be sweet but W.A.S.P. is always sooo busy.

  106. Eddie, I just have to tell you that TMS and your book are the reason I got back into the music. I had given up on hard rock and metal when grunge came out. Was VERY dissappointed in what was going on at that time. Years later, I find the show called “That Metal Show”. Here are three regular guys discussing my favorite music and interviewing awesome musicians. TMS has ignited a fire in me to search out more music and discover albums and aritists I didn’t know exsisted. I thank you for that! My CD collection has doubled in the past few years because of TMS. Also, thank you for introducing me to UFO. Listening to “Strangers” right now. Freakin’ Awesome. Keep Calm and Rock On!

  107. Thank god .as i type watching show 5:10 pm PST

  108. Ryan Graham says:

Eddie!!!!! I fuckin love you, man!!!! I love the show!!! So glad that you, Don, and Jim are coming back.
All the bands you mention on the show are amazing. You are the only reason I watch VH1 Classic. I’m so thankful for you keeping hard rock and metal alive. We need more fans! I’ve been a devoted metal head since I was 6 years old, man and I’m 21 now. My brother played me the song “Black Sabbath” from Sabbath’s 1st album at 6 and I instantly fell in love with metal. You’re amazing, man! Thank you for keeping metal alive! Braveheart, baby!!!!! Keep carrying the flag!!!! Anyways, just wanted to say I’m a huge fan of yours and the show and would love autographs from you, Jim, and Don! Love you guys!!! Long live metal!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!\m/!!!!!!!!

  109. Joe Marmo says:

VERY happy to hear about a new season. I was starting to get worried. I’m 48 years old, but your show makes me feel like I’m 18 again.
I know you don’t get to hand pick your guests, but I’m hoping to see John Arch and Jim Matheos on TMS someday. I don’t know if you’ve heard “Sympathetic Resonance”, it’s amazing!

  110. MrMojoRison says:

    Eddie,
What are your thoughts on the remaining Dio members touring together as “the Last in line”, do you think its a cash grab or a true tribute to Ronnie?
Have you guys ever looked into doing a “TMS presents….(insert band names) ” tour?

  111. Mick Ratte says:

    Any more guest drummers Ed?

  112. chris goodgion says:

hey eddie i got a great whats going on with question for the new shows whats going on with salty dog

  113. misfitsfreak says:

I TAKE IT PEEPS CANT READ..STOP ASKING TO HAVE GUESTS ON.EDDIE CANT CONTROL IT.WOW PEOPLE DONT LISTEN..MY IDEA OF THE BEST GUEST EVER ON TMS WOULD BE EDDIE VAN HALEN.

  114. george Rainbow rules says:

Hi Eddie, Best show ever. Cant. Wait for viv cambell to be on. Would love to hear why him and Ronnie didn’t get along. Also want to know what he thinks about Blackmore who was greatest ever. Love that u mentioned Vain last season saw them in Boston 1990.Davey Vain unbeatable fro.t man.. keep up good work.

  115. george Rainbow rules says:

Should have said Davey Vain, unbelievable front man.

  116. Larry Peoples Sr. says:

Eddie: I Love Warbringer. Have you ever heard of them?

  117. Hey Can’t wait for new season hope you guys get newer bands and expose them to metal community

    • We do have newer bands, but we are also on a channel called VH1 CLASSIC, which is all about CLASSIC artists

      • Classic artists like foo fighters….haha. TMS is ALL things hard rock and heavy metal, right? So push some newer bands and by newer I mean bands that have been around for 10 years or so and would actually benefit from your show. Everyone knows about acdc, sabbath etc. yer show is an hour long, so you can spend 45 mins sucking up to the “pioneers” of the genre and letting them plug their latest pile of crap solo album. But let’s show some love for the “newer” bands that actually keep the scene alive. Also, your show is very fan driven, how about involving them in the top 5 list. I know I get pissed off every time that list gets finalized. Again it seems like “newer” artists/bands get snubbed on that segment too. Try having a show where acdc, kiss and priest doesn’t get mentioned. Don’t get me wrong I love me some priest but I think we can all go on living if the usual bands don’t make it onto the list or doesn’t even get mentioned on one of the shows.

        • Perhaps we should just rewrite history and pretend MAJOR bands don’t play a role in almost every band that does come on? Wow, amazing. When you have a TV show and WORK FOR A NETWORK, then have whoever you want on. Oh, and in case you didn’t notice the network the show is on is called VH1 CLASSIC. Get it, CLASSIC? Do you go to ESPN Classic to see new games? Always amazes me how people think they have it all figured out when they have NO CLUE how it really works. We’ve been on 5 years and 100 episodes, someone likes it I’d say. Sorry it doesn’t fit your perfect mold. And we promote plenty of new bands when and how we can! In case you haven’t noticed classic bands also have nowhere to go on TV either.

          • I get the whole classic thing Eddie. But it’s irrelevant. TMS is a new show, it exists right now. Unlike the games on espn classic or whatever you’re comparing your show to. And if VH1classic is purely classic why am I watching a commercial for their roc doc weekend that features the foo fighters, didn’t know they were classic rock already. So you’re saying if TMS was on VH1 or some other non “classic” channel then you wouldnt mention the older bands as much? Listen I’m not trying to turn this into some lame war of words on your website, I actually appreciate you reading and responding to my post. I’ll have my tix for the new season, maybe we can continue this in person or at the rainbow. Take care, KISS sucks!!!!

  118. Mark Herron says:

So glad to see that the show will be back for at least one more season. I sure hope that you can get someone from the Slayer camp back on the show…getting worried about what their future is in light of Jeff’s ongoing health issues and the recent issues involving Dave Lombardo and the business side of things.

  119. While we wait for new shows 2013 April + ,,,,,,,,,, arrghhhh ,,,,,,,, taking forever !!! Why can’t they (VH1) air shows prior to 2010 ????? I’ve seen ’11-’12 three hundred million times each ,,,,,,,,, arrrghhhhhh :-)

  120. you need to get eddie and alex van halen on the show

  121. Osvaldo Alcoreza says:

Hi Eddie!. thanks for TMS! and for this season hope to see Gene and Paul!..I know the facts that lead you to do a statement about the masked band .. but I wish the things get better in the name of rock and roll..

  122. hey trunk, are you ever gonna get hetfield on your show???????????????????????????

  123. Yo Eddie was wondering what you thought of Metallica’s Load & Reload albums? And are yall ever gonna get James or Rob on the show sense Lars & Kirk have already appeared?

  124. Sean Frank says:

Yay!! Another season:) This is the best show on TV hands down! Phil Mogg. Paul Raymond. Andy Parker of UFO !! You know you want em Eddie!! Would love to see Pete Way to but unfortunately that may be a stretch~ Also another idea Fast Eddie Clark or Tony Moore from Riot to talk about life after Riot and the unfortunate death of the very missed Mark Reale. You guys can only do what you can I understand that Us fans are lucky to have you guys Rock on~!!!

  125. Hey Eddie, big fan of TMS. No requests here to drive you nuts, just a statement. Until you guys had him on, I never noticed what an accomplished and talented guitarist John 5 is. This guy is UN-FRICKIN-REAL! He is not bound by one style, or sound or type of music. He can play with Manson this morning, Skynyrd for lunch, and then (with his “chicken picking” skills) I wouldn’t be surprised at all to hear him on a Vince Gill recording. An amazing talent, yet he seems like the best of guys! Hopefully he will be back in the near future. Until then , I guess I’ll just have to check out some more of his body of work. You guys have made me a forever fan of John 5! See you in the Summer!

  126. Outstanding show! When will ticket information be forthcoming? And where will we be able to find said info? My hubby knows almost as much as you do about the classic heavy metal bands and I’d love to be able to take him and our daughter (who grew up listening to it too) to a taping. Have a great year!

  127. Josh Greybeard says:

Great to see that Amon Amarth mention last season in one of you guy’s top fives. I like seeing bands like that get some love on a show geared to , in my opinion, nostalgia/legacy acts. Hope to see more of that this season. And hopefully some Turbonegro dudes someday.

  128. Mike Robbins says:

I’m wearing a black TMS t-shirt as I’m typing, and I love to “geek out” with That Metal Show along with everyone else who’s posted here! Eddie, what are your thoughts as to why Aerosmith’s MFAD didn’t make much of a dent on the charts (and do you think the album stands a chance at being resuscitated?) “Street Jesus” MAKES that record!! Also, check out Chris Kopchak’s AeroFANatic fan page on Facebook if you haven’t already! Looking forward to the new season, man!

  129. Lets keep asking Eddie to bring a certain guest on even after he has stated 447 times that its up to vh1 and the ARTIST. Hey Eddie, can you resurrect Dimebag and bring him on for the new season so he can sit down with Gene Simmons, Ozzy and EVH. Thanks.

  130. How about Nuno Bettencourt or Ronni LeTekro from TNT for a guest guitarist?

  131. eddie is there any big albums coming out anytime soon or any rumors floating around?

  132. george Rainbow rules says:

Eddie, how about Blackmore as a guest guitarist. I know he only wants to talk about Blackmores Night, but would he come on and just play. Then u could ask him questions. What about Jon Olivia or any of the guys from savatage. Talk about a classic underrAted band. Maybe u could get them to perform for one year the music to Streets A Rock Opera instead of Trans Siberian Orchestra for one year.

  133. Steve in CT says:

Hey Eddie, looking forward to the new season. Have one question for you. (and no, nothing about guests lol) Are there any catagories you have NOT covered for the top 5 list?

Thanks, and keep up the good work! Metal lives!

  134. damon frisby says:

Man can’t wait…..i love this show!!!!!!!

  135. Eddie:

I know it is very hard to get guests on the show… but if the stars were to align….

Given that you already have two clowns on the show…. It would be great to have an episode on Hard Rock / Comedy acts and get Green jello (Mr. Manspeaker) and Tenacious D as guests?

    Cheers

  136. When is the DVD with all seasons coming out?

  137. How about BLACKMORE ? …..

  138. Tomzig Hetfield says:

Eddie, i heard that in the new seassion insted of just a guest guitar player or drummer you might have like a whole band from time to time. for some reasion i thought i heard it on the show its self. anyway just woundering thanks (now that i think of it it seems kinda impossible seeing that they only play out to the commercials) haha

    • Whole bands mean songs, songs cost money, we have very little money, so no bands

      • No money, after 12 “seasons”? There’s money, the execs just don’t want to spend it.
You guys have a gold mine there but it seems the VH1 Classic guys are missing the boat. Big money from musical instrument makers for ads. This IS their target market. They should be selling Fender, Gibson, pedals etc. (if they start and you guys make huge $$$ all I want is 5%)
Seriously, a show this popular should be making huge money.

        • Maybe you would like to work with the network and go over their operating budgets? Seriously! I work for THEM, I agree with you, but we all have bosses.

  139. Jessica says:

Awesome, I can’t wait! Each season you guys just get better and better! I was wondering though if you guys were considering having one of the original Black Sabbath members back on the show considering they have a new album scheduled to come out this June?

  140. Robb313 says:

Glad TMS is coming back! So now on to guests….. how about,
    Dave Ghrol
    Ghost
    Clutch
Brad Wilk (talking about working with Sabbath)
    down
    Alex Skolnick
    Gary Holt (Exodus)
    Saxon
    Paul Di’Anno
    GWAR!

  141. Eddie, i’m curious to know what you think about the 1995 UFO album, Walk on Water. As many times as you talk about UFO and as much of a fan as you are you should highlight it on the show. I think it’s their best album ever. The writing, and the technical proficiency of the band was amazing on that album and Schenker TORE IT UP!

  142. James R McKenzie says:

Get John Myung of Dream Theater as a guest musician. Also as a what ever happened to suggestion “What ever happened to David T. Chastain?” Also get Steve Vai on as a guest. Another “what ever happened to” Fernando Von Arb of Krokus.

  143. Brian York says:

Thank God! I’m starting to go into TMS withdraw. Rush, UFO, and Black Sabbath made up the sound track to my adolescent life and beyond. I play guitar and Schenker is always present in my playing. His phrasing is impeccable.

  144. Brian York says:

Thank God, I was going into TMS withdraw! Rush, UFO, and Black Sabbath made up the soundtrack to my adolescent life and beyond. I play guitar and Schenker is always present in my playing. His phrasing is impeccable.

  145. Todd Harig says:

Best (Rock) News of 2013: Return of THAT METAL SHOW!! Awesome! Can’t Wait!
Worst (Rock) News of 2013: Breakup of Black Country Communion!! What Happened? Rumors about same band minus Joe B.???

  146. Hey eddie, whatd you think of newstead’s song, soldierhead? I thought it sounded a lot like a motorhead song.

  147. scottAKcaptain says:

Hi Ed. Reading this as I Captain my ship in the Bering Sea. Does any band bring it as hard in thier live performances as Jackyl? Never was a fan til I saw them live recently.

  148. I love TMS. New music isn’t what it was the last 40 years keep up the great work keeping metal and hard rock relevant and cool like it should be. It’s shows like TMS and the fans that keep metal alive. Please try to get some newer bands if you can like avenged sevenfold, bullet for my valentine, as I lay dying, all that remains. You guys rock, keep up the great work.

  149. Sally Gorges says:

    Hi Eddie,
Looking forward to the new season. True joy to watch a show where the hosts know what they are talking about, have opinions and know how to defend them. Have been introduced to a whole slew of artists I was not familiar with and became more familiar with artists I had only had a passing knowledge of. I was wondering if there is a list somewhere that has all of the “Pick of the Week” suggestions you have made over the previous seasons. I made the mistake of not writing them down in the past. (Won’t make the mistake again.) So would like to know if there is somewhere I can find that information. Also, is your book available with “That Metal Show” items, or is Amazon best place to get that? Thanks and excited for the new season!

    • The show replays non stop so record them all in your DVR. There are 100 episodes now so no record I know of for what we picked. Thanks

  150. Lisa Marie says:

How do we get tickets to be part of the audience??

  151. george Rainbow rules says:

Eddie, will Jennifer be back, please say yes.

  152. Tom Arayaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

  153. Eddie, I’m brazilian TMS fan who lives in LA and love your show… How do I get tickets for the new season??? Please get Max Cavalera on the show or either Andreas Kisser… Take care buddy.

  154. Eddie,
After reading all these 2013 messages and replies, it’s clear that you get frustrated at times over what the fans post and maybe you’ve even destroyed a few keyboards in the process. I think it’s time for you to be a special guest on Florentine’s podcast. Yeah, I def think that would be a nice outlet where you can just let it all out. ( hopefully you don’t have a man-cave… ) Nice.
Thanks for hosting a great show.

  155. Love the guest musician do you think that maybe one day y’all will have a whole band

  156. Thanks for being so active in your career and can’t wait to see the new season

  157. bennie lane says:

…was never much a John5 fan til i saw him on your show-now i even check out his lessons on youtube! i think he owes you a dinner…howza bout Buckethead as guest GTR? as a regular guest, i don’t think you’d get a word outta him…hope you can find more for the Blonde to do if you’re cutting back on Top5! …

  158. Rik Parks says:

Eddie… who would your dream guest be? I am thinking Robert Plant or Jimmy Page.. How freakin incredible would that be? I know you interviewed Robert before, but to have him on the show would be amazing!

  159. milt suckweed says:

    Hey Eddie
i just love the show and also your book.ive always been a hude fan of music. and thanks to you i have listened to alot of new music. music has always been my saving grace along with books. and i thank you for turning me on to books about bands and also your book.now that im sick and pretty much stuck at home i just cant get enough of your show and comments. and yes i agree it should be called the rock and roll hall of shame. thanks for turning a old rocker back on to the mucis as i need all ican get. and keep up the great work

  160. milt suckweed says:

i also want to say that its too bad some people wont do the show. you would think that with a show like TMS that all rockers would want to be on to talk about their goings on and talk about how the music scene has changed. the show always has great people on, but the ones that refuse to do the show need to wake up and see that being on the show could get them new fans. but what do i know. maybe they have to big a ego to do a show that would promote them.they should be thankful for a show that promotes them and for a guy like eddie.
keep up the great work eddie.

    • Joe Marmo says:

I agree. I think Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley ought to man up an do the show. Ozzy too. Although, Paul and Gene are probably afraid they will be uncomfortable knowing how Eddie feels about other members wearing Ace and Peter’s make-up. And, I would love hear Ozzy discuss how he agreed or was coerced into removing Bob Daisley and Lee Keepsake’s tracks from the first two albums. Bob and Lee were so solid on those two albums. The remasters sound sloppy without them. I’m glad that they continued to work together in Uriah Heep.

  161. I have an idea for the show. How about having up and coming bands play a live song on the show? You already do your “pics of the week”,so why not have them play live? I doubt you would run into problems with them appearing on the show,as opposed to the egos you MUST deal with.

  162. Dave Posey says:

hay Eddie im from NW, IN and love TMS has to be the best show on MTV since headbangers ball!! I was really starting to freak out that the show was cancelled! Iv been waiting every Sat. for the new episodes. would love to see Motley on the show an yes i did see the episode with vince from vegas u did. but love the show an have seen every show since day one. Long Live Metal.

  163. John Berger says:

How do yu feel that finally rush will be inducted into the rock and roll hall of shame

  164. Joe Marmo says:

    Hi Eddie,

I was listening to an old Opie and Anthony show. It was not long after your book. Jay Mohr was heckling you for your top song picks. It was very entertaining and you were a good sport.
I’m glad you reminded Jay that “Romeo’s Delight” is one of VH’s best songs (WACF is my favorite VH album).
PS It seems like you get pretty frustrated on this forum from answering the same questions over and over and reminding everyone that you don’t get to hand pick all of the guests. I understand your frustration, but keep in mind that we are you biggest fans Eddie. your show is our only outlet for seeing people from the groups that we love and idolized growing up. Sometimes it seems like your responses can have an arrogant tone. I hope I don’t get booted for saying that. Please try to have some patience with your posters. We all love the show and we all love the same music.

    Peace,
    Joe Marmo

  165. hey seems to me vh1 need to pull there heads out of there $%.it you that makes the show work, thay need to work a lot more with u guy to move the show to a higher level!!!!!!!!!.you guys rock.dan.k

  166. Instead of the defensive, “we asked them” response, just realize that people are passionate about the show. Compile the requests in order of frequency and present the results to VH1 and/or the artists to show what the people want. Begin worrying when people stop requesting guests.

    • Okay, when I’m done hosting and producing 2 radio shows and a TV show, and writing my book, I’ll also start running petitions for bands to be on TMS that don’t respond when asked.. No problem.

  167. Eddie, you do a great job and get the best guests. Sure there are a lot of people I’d like to see, and I figure they’ll be on sooner or later. I just want to see more TMS for ever! Keep rockin’ and long live Eddie Trunk and TMS!

  168. Rob Barry says:

Hello Eddie, I am a 52 yr. Old Metal Head and proud of it. Born in 1960, I have Matured with Rock-n-Roll. I use to listen to Early Beatles, Stones and Elvis on 45′s at a very young age but for some reason always gravitated to the harder more radical music and went to School in the 70′s, was head on into the NWOBHM and love Death Metal to this day….I have been into Motorhead since 1980. I think its fantastic that you pay respects to all the Early Rockers from the past but, Death Metal is a HUGE part of “Everything Hard Rock & Metal” and because you have you have stated that you “Don’t Get It” with Death Metal you totally ignore the great Bands. There are a lot of Artist that are busting thier ass flying the Metal flag and they deserve recognition. Arch Enemy, Amon Amarth, Arsis, & even Carcass is back out touring. Well, thats my rant, Thanks for the great show…B.T.W, “Force It” is my favorite UFO album…

    • I can not and will not pretend to like things I don’t. Have PLENTY on my plate with rock, hard rock and metal I do deal with. I respect all genres but can not fake it that I like something. ALL music I like must have vocals that appeal to me, that genre does not

  169. Dana Allen says:

Can’t wait for the next season. Any chance you could hget Rick Emmit to apear on the show?

  170. Hey Eddie , great show , great hosts , great music and talent . I used to watch Virgil Donati play drums here in local pubs ( melbourne Australia ) just wondering if you know if he is still playing with bands over in the States?? 171. Randy Posvar says:

Awesome! Another season of TMS! How about Frank Marino of Mahogany Rush? Very little was known of him and this great band……..had a huge fan base too!

  172. Daryl Larkin says:

Eddie, I love your show and look forward to each show every week. I saw Foxy Shazam open for Slash and bought all there CDs within a month. Can you get them on the show or at least give a little mention on the show? Thx bro and keep on doing what you’re doing.

  173. Brandon Jewell says:

Hey Eddie , you personally commenting to your fans is really admirable. And pretty cool. I was wondering about Chris Robinson or rich of black crowes? Have they ever done tms? They are one of . no.. They are my favorite band. And I was wondering if they could ever do tms. Even though their southern rock and not fully just a pure metal band. They are awesome. Have they been asked? I know they are currently on tour. Just curious. Keep up the good work. Your truly a nice person for personally replying…

  174. Brandon Jewell says:

P.s. if vocals are your measuring stick, or an ideal barometer then the crowed you gotta respect. Chris has a solid voice even today.

  175. Christopher says:

If so, that is AWESOME as I and many of my friends are tremendous fans. Look Forward to the new season. ROCK ON!!!

  181. izac nile says:

Great show and awesome guests! I really dug the Danzig episode. The misfits, samhain, and danzig are some of my all time favorites and I’m glad to see him recognized on a show like this. I would have liked to see a little more from him but I can’t complain. Just wanna know if there is any chance of seeing other misfits members (Jerry or Doyle) on a different note I love your interviews with Peter criss. I’d love to see him too.

  182. Ed White says:

    Eddie, a few random thoughts…
Glad to hear TMS is on for another season. You usually start off the first episode each season with one of your famous rants against the RRHOShame as they deserve. I am glad they finally got their heads out of their a**es and let Rush in. I know that was one of your main bands you rallied for but don’t stop the rant. As you have mentioned there are so many others deserving to be recognized.

Rock N Roll heaven just got a little louder with the passing this year of Clive Burr, Alvin Lee, Jeff Hanneman and Dani Crivelli. I’m sure your show will no doubt pay homage.

Suggested top 5 list. Top 5 underrated/overlooked metal/hard rock vocalist. When it comes to vocals and who is top dog you always get the same group, Bruce, Rob, Dio, Plant, etc. Not to take away from them ’cause they are all great. But there are some guys with as much talent that get passed over when this subject is brought up. Now, most of these guys I am not a big fan of but I do recognize the talent. My list in no particular order…Paul Stanley, Sebastian Bach, Dee Snyder, Sammy Hagar, Ozzy.

    • Ed, thanks and be sure to watch to see what we do. Please note the shows were already shot when some of the guys you mentioned passed. They air different times around the world..

  183. Marcos says:

  188. Brandon Jewell says:

Eddie with your 2011 I think it was interview with axl. In Miami. Was axle
A dick? He seems to have that reputation over the past 25 years. But he was always
    A favorite vocalist of mine.

  189. Jeremiah Milligan says:

A metal talk show that hasn’t had Burton or Dino on are you kidding me?the influence of FF is unmeasurable ! The douches you have on this show are unreal. VH1 is calling the shots? What do they know? The industrialist was arguably the best album of 2012! I hope you ask them and they give you the finger. The middle one!
