I think that when a vocalist leaves a band he or she essentially takes a large portion of that bands sound. A guitar player can leave and be replaced to a degree and not be noticed( eddie,, zakk, and a few other notable exceptions) So I think what Zakk stated had its moment of truth. But I feel that a band should include all its members. Each one contributed to the greater legacy. Yes sabbath was different with dio or Ian gillan Or the great Tony Martin but break it down…it’s still sabbath. Still that Iommi guitar. No one said Blizzard of Ozz was sabbath-like. Same vocalist different guitarist. I think zakk is an awesome guitarist. You have to respect a musician who has been viable so long in this business. Maybe he gets too caught up in his own schtick but still entitled to and deserving of respect for his opinion. You may agree or not but that makes the ability to voice our opinions so great. On a different note to eddie: Thanks for the Scorpion Child shout out. That band has to be seen live to truly appreciate them. Awesome sound!
