11/1: TRUNKFEST ON AXS NEWS, VOODOOFEST REPORT, AVENGED PODCAST, R&R HOF, BRUCE DICKINSON IN STUDIO FRI

By now you have probably heard about the official announcement of my new TV series for AXS TV (press release in News section). After doing a few projects for them in recent years, I am thrilled to have my own show with TrunkFest! This show will have me covering music festivals around the US of a variety of genres of music. Although many of the artists I will talk to will be more rock based, the festivals themselves are very varied. I do not pick which ones we cover, but the criteria is more about what goes on around them, than the music and bands playing. TrunkFest of more of a road show vs a music interview show. It includes coverage of rides, food, culture and more around each event. So far I have shot episodes at Sturgis, Kaboo (San Diego), Louder Than Life (KY) and VoodooFest in NO last weekend. This series will not hit the air until early next year, since we need to do 4-6 more to have a full season. But I think you guys will like it and I am having a blast doing them. I’m also discovering so much about many festivals I may not normally know about or attend. When I have a premiere date I’ll let you all know. Huge thanks to all at AXS TV for having me on the team. Can’t wait for it to start to air!

Please note the announcement of TrunkFest in NO WAY impacts my desire or ability to do That Metal Show again. If that show finds a home (and of course I asked AXS!) we are all in!

Had a blast in New Orleans. Interviewed Prophets Of Rage and Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters for TrunkFest. I watched all of Foos and spent some time talking with Dave Grohl and hanging after the show. Dave is one of the biggest people in rock today, but still one of the coolest to just hang with. Taylor was a great interview as always. It was so cool to see so many out to watch this band and really good for rock! Thanks to Foo Fighters and their staff for the hospitality. I also caught some of The Struts (really good, and exciting for the next wave of rock fans!), Vintage Trouble and more. My first time in NO in 30 years, and it was a blast!!

On TrunkNation on Volume this week I had Sammy Hagar on yesterday. Was a great interview and can now be heard On Demand,. It will also be my podcast soon. Tomorrow on Volume live at 2P ET I let YOU help me pick my R&R HOF ballot. This is a REAL vote, and means as much as the entire fan vote online! Friday on Volume I will have Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden in studio for his new book. Join me on SiriusXM 106 live 2-4P ET, replay 9-11P ET daily.

New podcast tomorrow is with M Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold. Free worldwide Itunes or www.PodcastOne.com

Saw The Struts at a 1500-seat club in Libertyville, IL back in May. THEY ROCKED !!! Best show I’ve seen in years! Energy, great tunes. Luke Spiller is Freddie Mercury reincarnated–what a voice!
